First of all, the location of this hotel is right in the middle of all the activities, on a relatively quiet street. I say relatively, because there was construction on the road outside the hotel, but obviously this is temporary. A few good restaurants just steps away from the hotel also. It's an easy walk from here to the Duomo,...

My husband and I have just returned from a much-anticipated stay at the Hotel Torre Guelfa. Florence was my Birthday present so to speak...and we had booked an expensive Superior Room (206 euros per night) months in advance. All the reviews had been quite positive so the disappointment on our arrival was huge! Firstly, the street in front of the...

Dear Robert and Anna, We are really astonished reading your negative review after all your congratulations at the front desk during all our conversations while here in the hotel. Maybe during your 2 night stay you could have shown us your disappointment? Hard to imagine why you wrote “with no help offered from the Hotel Staff”: to be honest, 2...

Stayed for 8 nights in September this year. Hotel is located close to all the main sights and is a lovely old building. Breakfast is self-service and in the breakfast room on the third floor. Rooms are old and interesting. Only thing that spoilt it a little was the building work going on next door. Staff are all friendly and...

Torre means tower and it does have an elevator to 3 (4th floor). The small roof-top bar is open 6-10 pm and worth the stair climb, or BYOB or lunch up there before 5:30. Rick Steves' tour was checking in the day we left.

We booked this hotel very last minute (by fluke) and were lucky to have stayed here! The history of the building was quite intriguing and enjoyed learning about it during our stay. The building had a lot character and staying here is definitely a different (&welcome) experience. The rooftop terrazza was incredible! On top of the hotel was a tower...

Beautiful location in the historical center of Florence. A medieval tower view. Large rooms with yesterdays furniture, caracter and design and old bathroom. A bit old fashion charm not refurbished for some time..

Looking for something different....not the same old same old chain hotel? Torre Guelfa is definitely the place you want to stay! They said the staff was friendly and...

We were here with a Rick Steves Tour. It was a great pick and probably the most luxurious hotel we stayed at. I love history and the fact that this was an old tower built in the 13th century that was converted into a hotel was a huge bonus to me. There was a gate at the entrance to the...

Fabulous hidden gem of a hotel nestled in an 'alleyway' 2 minutes walk from Ponte Vecchio. Rooms are well appointed in a very shabby chic way. Tiny rooftop bar is really amazing, if a little crowded at peak times. Breakfast was the only disappointment in that it was 'average' rather than superb. But please don't get me wrong it was...
