The hotel is of faded charm and elegance of times gone by. Its great advantage: the Annalena offers single rooms and prices. You might ask for a room with a part of a balcony, table and chair, overlooking a quiet garden. It makes up for the tight quarters of a single room. Nothing is luxurious, but the essentials are there,... More

Annalena is well situated just a tram journey away from attractions. The staff are very welcoming nothing is too much trouble, particularly Lara. It was nice to be able to sit outside on warm evenings.

This hotel may not be what many would consider a five star hotel in the sense of luxurious rooms and the ultimate in bathrooms but what it lacks in this area it more than makes up for in its charm - it is all heart. The location is ideal, overlooking a garden and very peaceful but only ten minutes from... More

We stayed at Hotel Annalena for a week in July. We were impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of the room and the friendly, helpful staff. It was a relatively easy walk to the main areas of Florence. The breakfasts offered good variety and the coffee was excellent. WIFI in the room was not always as quick or reliable as... More

The hotel is in the old town, but comfortably away from the worst of the crowds. Still only a 15 minute walk to most attractions. Clean, beds are good, there's airconditioning. Make sure your room has access to the terrace, it's wonderful and overlooks one of the few green areas inside the city walls.

I would definitely stay here again! The staff are helpful and on duty 24/7. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is great - it is in a non-tourist area of the City but well within walking distance to all the famous places. The included breakfast was good. As for the "downs" well there is no elevator and one... More

I would not recommend staying here. The hotel has not been updated in a very long time, including the age of the bedding. The bathroom was tiny. Also, I was not expecting this, but the lobby is up two stories. You walk into a random, empty building and then walk up two flights before you see anyone. This was annoying... More

Okay - it's not the best hotel in the world. But for the price I would stay here a thousand times again! The bed was comfy and big, and the rooms, including the lounge, were beautifully decorated with antiques. Breakfast was tasty with fresh coffee for every guest, however selection was very small. Bar also was well stocked. However, not... More

Familiar hotel with historic athmosphere and good service at a reasonable price. Clean, quiet and a nice place to return to after having explored Florence all day. Very helpful staff and breakfast better than normal for Italian hotels.

This hotel is situated in a an old palace and therefore has very high ceilings, tall windows with beautiful old fashioned shutters and original tiled floors everywhere. I saw some reviews mentioning it desperately needed modernising. Id say yes to bathrooms as they were a little old fashioned, but ours was clean. How you would modernise the rooms and hallway/eating... More
