Camping Michelangelo is a perfect option of stay in Florence. Location is amazing, very close to "Piazzale Michelangelo" and the views are the best of the city. In the restaurant inside the camping there are good options under very reasonable prices. Staff in the restaurant as well as in the camping.

Campsite immediately next to a night club that plays sets 2am to 4am every night! Needed ear plugs to get to sleep, as felt like disco in the tent with us. Could not believe it when second club started up on Friday on the opposite side. Also facilities not up to scratch. Showers full of cracked and broken loose tiles,... More

The panoramic view over Florence is stunning, however the camping isn't the greatest. The tents are fun but incredibly hot in the day time. The bathroom facilities are very dirty and their are not enough toilets or showers for the number of people trying to use them. The restaurant has nice food, but the staff are not very friendly, the... More

We arrive at night and camp is very hard to find. No signs. The campsite was not divided. No hot water and there was bugs in the shower. The bathroom was very dirty. It was the most expensive and worse camping we stay in italy.

Me and my friends we choose to come here because of the price and also the location. The camping is very poor, degraded with no place to cook or barbecue. We are travelers, so we can perfectly handle a whole on the streets or get some cold during the night. What we don't accept is rude service. We decided to... More

We had a brilliant stay at this campsite. We had two beds in a three man tent, however the other bed was left empty the four nights we were there. The beds were comfy and the sheets clean - it got cold at night but a blanket was provided. The showers and toilets were pleasant and clean, and there are... More

The only good thing of this camping is its location. It is next to Michaelangelo's Square, that has a great panoramic view of the city. You can walk to the city centre in 20' aprox. However, the camping is really seedy. It lacks cleanliness. The number toilets and showers were not enough for all the guests of the camping and... More

We visited this camp using our own car and tents. Its location is excellent, being close to the center of Florence. However the price of camping is obviously overinflated by this. The showers and facilities were ok (like in a cheap camp). It was hard to build a tent due to uneven and rocky ground. There's also a loud disco... More

Campsite is very well located – on the hill overlooking best city attractions. Facilities are only a short walk away from any lot. During our stay it was clean and water was always hot. There is also a bar onsite.

This campsite is in a wonderful location and not even a 5 minute walk from the Piazzale Michelangelo, with an incredible view over the city! The campsite is very basic, but the beds in the static tents were quite comfortable. Washing facilities were fine and the bar/restaurant offered good food (breakfast, lunch and dinner were available). All in all, it... More

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
