The best hotel with sweetest staff. They were able to provide great recommendations for food and sights in the area. Room was newly renovated and met all of our standards. The hotel staff went above and beyond to please their guests. Upon taking a survey after our first night, the staff went out of their way to locate extra pillows without even asking (pillows weren’t even a complaint just a note to hotel that the bed could use additional pillows). The hotel is in a great location centrally located to major walking sights and walking distance to train station (even with luggage). The rooftop deck for breakfast also had stunning views.

Great location and view! This room was exactly as described and what we expected. It was the perfect location and price. Room was a bit warm and temp could not be controlled. We believe this was due to the towel rack warmer which we could not figure out how to turn off. We kept our balcony door open at night to let the cool air come in and it was perfect and beautiful. Due to the location, if you are a light sleeper this option may not be for you. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. We were very pleased with our stay and would definitely book again in the future.

We booked a classic double with duomo view. I will say the view of the duomo was breathtaking and waking up to the sound of the bell tower bells was extremely memorable. Location is great. Unfortunately, that's were the pluses stop. The room was spacious but not clean. Floors were sticky and had hair from previous guests. Bathroom was also spacious but the combo shower/tub had only a partial glass door, which I know is a style but makes showering difficult. The outlets throughout the room need to be replaced - our chargers weren't staying in socket because the socket was too loose. We had to take turns charging electronics with the only useable outlet. Lastly, there is a very old and very small elevator you use to get to the 4th floor where the hotel is located. My husband, myself, and our three pieces of carry on size luggage could not fit. You can use the stairs to go down from the hotel to street level, but not up since they are locked from the building lobby side. Our room was located up more stairs from the hotel lobby where there is no elevator and we had to carry our luggage. The front desk staff are friendly but you have to turn in your room key every time you leave the hotel and retrieve them when you come back. Super inconvenient. This hotel is fine for a few nights but only book if you're doing the duomo view.

Response from Hotel Firenze, Proprietario at Hotel Duomo Firenze
Responded 1 week ago
Kind Sara, Thank you for your comment and for your appreciation on the view from the room. We apologize if you found the room not as clean as you would have preferred and we are sorry that you did not report this to us at the time you detected this. We checked the electrical sockets in the room and they work perfectly and the fact that we found them loose is due to the difference in European standards and other countries. If you had told us this we would have given you an adapter and indicated which socket to use. In the room there is a socket that always works and that is not controlled by the energy saving system that makes the lights and more inactive when you leave the room, this to recharge the computers or other when you are not in the room. The elevator "is not old" "it is ancient" is the system n 69 built in Florence, for this reason it is appreciated by many customers, it is in wood and glass in style with the historic building of the 14th century it can carry a maximum of 3 people, you probably prefer steel lifts, closed, technical and without charm. The lift reaches the 4th floor where the reception is located, then there are rooms on the 3rd and 5th floor that can be reached via internal stairs, but all this is explained both on our website and in those of the online agencies. . We ask you to always leave the keys at the reception when the customer leaves the hotel for a matter of security and attendance control. The stairs can be used both to go down to the street level and to go up, naturally in the Hall the stairs are barred by a glass door which is opened by the reception if the customer requests it through the intercom. This is also an attention to the safety of our guests otherwise anyone could go up and create difficulties. All this would have been simply explained if we had been asked, it is a right of our guests to ask for clarification on the ways of use that might seem ridiculous or inappropriate and surely the explanation would dispel the perplexities. Best regards. Paolo

Incredible location, I recommend the superior view room with the balcony. You can easily walk to all the major tourist sites and the train station. Breakfast is outstanding. Rooms are updated. The hotel retains old world charm. The piazza below is full of restaurants so there is noise all night. You can also hear sounds from adjacent rooms. The hotel is on the fourth floor so be prepared for an old fashioned elevator. I thought it was charming. The hotel is not well marked at street level and easy to miss. Be prepared for pan handlers at the street entrance entrance

Great location. Friendly staff. Rooms are good for what you pay for. Our room had good sound proofing unless we opened a window. Breakfast was decent and lots of choices for tours that the Hayek will help you book as well as reservations for restaurants. Only downside is the air conditioning only works when your in the room.

Location and room 31 with balcony is why I’d stay here!!!! We walked everywhere within 10 - 15 minutes. Breakfast on balcony. If you want to listen to street music, it’s outside your steps. Rooms very clean. I would only stay if I got room 31 with balcony.

Hotel Duomo was the perfect location for our stay. The room was spotless and our view of the Duomo was magnificent- seemed as if we could reach out the window and touch it! At breakfast each morning we were greeted with a smile- what a nice way to start the day. The hotel has a lovely terrace to sit and have breakfast while looking at the beautiful Duomo. The breakfast was delicious. We were walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do- the train station is even walking distance. It was the perfect location and such a lovely staff.

You can't really get any closer to the Duomo! Great view! The rooms are small but well maintained and highly functional. Their breakfast is great and a value for 11 euro compared to what you can get at a nearby cafe. Friendly and helpful staff. I hope to return!

Great location! Comfortable, clean hotel with kind, helpful staff. Has a beautiful view of the Duomo, but inspite of such close proximity to the crowds , the hotel is quiet and peaceful. Will definitely stay at Hotel Duomo again!
