This hotel has a breadth of rooms for rent. For those on a budget, the smaller rooms are indeed such but the overall ambiance and comfort is worth it; however, if you can, spend the extra $40 a day and ask for the larger rooms. On each trip, we've asked for the room with a "large bedroom with a window...

The hotel is an easy 10 minute walk from the Railroad station. It is also located in the very center of Florence, but its a quiet location because the street is closed to traffic. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The owners are very attentive, friendly and caring. They serve an excellent breakfast.

We stayed here with friends in late September and found the rooms to be very comfortable, the breakfast good and the staff very friendly. The hotel is ideally located close to the train station and the Duomo. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

We booked this hotel based on Lonely Planet recommendations and it turned out to be perfect. We stayed here 3 nights in October. Our room was small, but very clean and comfortable. They have great breakfast and everyone at the front desk is super helpful. Walking distance from the Santa Novella train station, Duomo, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Accademia, Michelangelo plaza...

Stayed at this hotel for two weeks on a recent visit to Florence and loved everything about it. Located just a 2-minute walk from the Duomo and no more than 10-15 minutes from most of the other major attractions of the city (Accademia, Uffizi, Medici Chapel, San Lorenzo, Republic Square, River Arno and the Ponte Vecchio, train station, major shopping...

Rated it very good because of the excellent location to train station and major sites and generous breakfast and helpfulness of owner and staff. The rooms if not overcrowded with beds (probably that's why families like it) are a reasonable size. If there wasn't a tick list for functionality it covers the basics, but sometimes less is more or a...

We stayed at Perseo several years ago and it was a good experience so we decided to return. The location is really good and close to many attractions and shopping in Florence. The hotel has a lift which is a benefit to those who are not as mobile. The rooms are not large, but they are adequate as is the...

Dear Claregirl48 Thank you for taking the time to share your considerations regarding my hotel. We are just a small family run business that relies on constructive feedback to help us improve. The coffee/ tea in room services are a new entry, the long term cleaning staff hadn't completely understood how it should work. These teething problems have been resolved....

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
