We had the Panorama Suite. Our room lacked nothing. It was clean, comfortable, warm, welcoming, spacious, well appointed, and simply beautiful. The hotel has excellent wi-fi and adequate outlets for charging all the tech we carry. It is a tower. There are lots of steps even though there are elevators as well. The views of the Ponte Vecchio, the Arno...

Absolutely stunning hotel, from the moment you walk through the door you are greeted with luxury. The room was spacious and had everything you could have asked for. We had the hammam room with its own spa, this is a must for couples. The view couldn't of been better and the noise was minimal even with it wide open. Very...

This charming historic property offers a wonderful location on the Arno, corner with one of Florence's best shopping streets. A terrific rooftop bar offers views over the city that are tough to beat. The rooms are well-appointed, ample, light and very comfortable. The staff is exceedingly helpful and welcoming. It feels more like a home than a hotel at a...

I just can't say enough about these folks. If you need anything, anytime day or night and it is within their power to provide it, they will. I had only been planning to stay in Florence for four days. I stayed seven, due to how at home I felt here, and how it made me feel like I could make...

Stayed there for 4 nights last week. The star were very very nice. The breakfast was o.k. The view spectacular;lar. Te room not nice at all. They upgraded me to a "tower suite." The room was dark; the living room. There was a sofa that was too stained and dirty to sit on. Needs updating. At least where I was!

After staying in four different hotels on our previous five trips to Florence, my wife and I first stayed at Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni in 2014. We enjoyed our stay there so much that we chose to stay there again in 2016. The hotel’s location on Via Tornabuoni, one of Florence’s most prestigious streets near the Arno and Ponte...

Check in was handled very pleasantly by Mika, who also arranged for reserved time tickets to The Academia and Uffizi Museums so we could see David and "Birth of Venus" without standing in lines. Thank you Mika. The hotel's location and breakfast were excellent. Wifi in our room, #402 was spotty, but there is an easy chair just out side...

For our last night in Tuscany, I booked the Antica Torre based on the many complimentary Trip Advisor reviews, and it was just as expected. We had a lovely 6th floor room overlooking the river. From the hotel, which is located at the corner of one of the top shopping streets in Florence, we walked all over the city. What...

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We personally enjoy welcoming our guests, we wish to reinvent the concept of hospitality, and we have the inspiration to provide the warmth of home in every detail. This is how the Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni 1, Florence came to be: a tower-house built in the mid-12th century by the Guelph family of Ruggerini. At the beginning of the 20th century, this palace became "Pensione Piccioli," and quickly turned into a privileged residence for aristocrats and English writers. Closed after the Great War, Pensione Piccioli reopened in 2001, as a Period Residence called "Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni 1." Thanks to attentive restoration to preserve all its original charm, the evocative ambiance of the Palace on Via Tornabuoni has regained life and warmth. This magnificent complex is considered one of the typical "tower-houses" of Mediaeval Florence, and, to this day, it still preserves all its characteristic architectural elements: it is an admirable example of the human ability to convert buildings built for war into oases of peace, culture and hospitality. In this ancient tower, we have created a world of harmony, privacy, and attentiveness to our guests' needs. Luxury, peace, and beauty are all in traditional Italian style, and give the concept of comfort new aesthetics. Almost all rooms enjoy an enchanting view of the city or the Arno River, and all are furnished with the highest in comfort: satellite plasma TVs, DVD players, wireless internet connection, direct line telephone, minibar, electronic safe, air conditioning and heating, private marble bath with tub and/or shower, hair dryer, slippers and shoehorns, and Dr Vranjes scented essences. Some of the Rooms and Suites are decorated with a Renaissance flair: with frescoes, drapes in coloured precious fabrics, bathrooms in red Alcantara or Gold Calacatta marble, and romantic four poster beds. ... more   less
