We stayed here 3 nights during our trip through Italy to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Our anniversary occurred during our stay, and Jennifer at the front desk helped get us a reservation at La Loggia (a great restaurant on the hillside overlooking Florence), only 1 day ahead of time. She also called several other places looking for an available reservation before securing the one at La Loggia, and we returned to our room on our anniversary to find a complimentary bottle of Prosecco on ice. Jennifer went the extra mile to make our day special. All of the staff here are courteous, helpful, and respond immediately to any request. Our room, an Executive room with a king size bed, was clean and nicely decorated. The hotel is literally right next to the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery. Unfortunately, our 2nd floor room's view of the River Arno and the famous bridge was blocked by the rather plain wall of the Vasari Corridor. There is a nice rooftop bar with indoor and outdoor seating, where you can sit and hear the music being played on the Ponte Vecchio each evening. We had a great stay.…
This is very nice hotel in the heart of Florence. I reserved the room for 3 that was described as 30 sq m (about 300 sq foot) in two levels with one bathroom, and was apprehensive about the room space. To my surprise the room actually consisted of living room, two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. All the rooms seemed recently renovated in very nice contemporary stile and were very clean. Breakfast was very good and the stuff was very friendly. If I am in Florence again it will be Degli Orafi for sure.
We loved this hotel. The location is fabulous. On the river and near the Ponte Vecchio. Rooms were fabulous. Staff was very very helpful with maps, directions and advice. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Very nice terrace attached to the bar where we did a fun wine tasting. Excellent hotel.
We adore this magnificent hotel and love every visit more than the last. Thank you to everyone who made this trip so enjoyable especially Federico. The rooms are Devine and views breathtaking, whilst the bar is sensational and very elegant. We loved the breakfasts and the whole vibe of this establishment.
We chose this hotel because of its convenient location, just few steps away from the Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio. We stayed on the 4th floor and room was very clean, comfortable, spacious and AC worked perfectly. The bathroom was big enough for a family of 3. The plus was we had a fantastic view of the Palazzo Vecchio tower! Really delicious breakfast, with lots of good selections of breads, cereals, fruits and juices. Service was impecable, very helpful when we requested special things (vegetarian traveler)! Make sure to visit the terrace and enjoy a nice drink there! We were so lucky to have found this gem, looking forward to come back here for our next stay in Firenze!
The hotel is situated in the best possible location right next to the Arno River and the Ponte Vecchio, and just 2 minutes walk from the Uffizi Gallery and Piazza Signoria (town hall square). Rooms were very clean, with comfortable beds and stylish decor. Especially the bathroom was of a particularly high standard. Breakfast was delicious, and we had the pleasure of the Maître d'hotel Federico, whose professionalism and dedication to fine customer service made us feel welcome and cherished in a way rarely experienced even at the very best of hotels. The aircondition was inadequate as we couldn't get the temperature setting below 17 degrees Celsius, and I doubt this was in fact the actual temperature in the room despite the blower being set to 'High'. Beware of the top terrasse bar, where where we on two occations had an after dinner Cognac. The first time the Cognacs were plentiful. The second time we asked for two Hennessy Cognacs which according to the bar keeper was too scarce to suffice for two people - he even raised the bottle to show us. So instead we opted for Courvoisier. However, when served we got Hennessy anyway with half the amount of cognac in each glass, and still having to pay the full price of €28 per glass! We didn't want to make a scene, so kept it to ourselves. This aside, the Degli Orafi is a fine hotel which we would be happy to visit again.…
Wonderful stay at this charming hotel. The location couldn’t be any better, next door to the Uffizi and along the river Arno. The walk to the train station is about 10-12 minutes and there are plenty of shops and restaurants in the area. Our room had a generous space with a t-shirt as a gift greeting us when we arrived. It also had good air conditioning which was crucial during the hot weather. The breakfast was very nice with plenty of gluten free options and we found the staff to be very pleasant, particularly at the breakfast lounge. There was also a rooftop bar with excellent views.
This hotel is located a the heart of the old city. Yet, it is perfectly calm (disclaimer: I was at 4th floor), perfectly refurbished, perfectly comfortable. The breakfast was awesome. The concierge gave me superb restaurant recommendations. I consider myself as lucky to have found Hotel Degli Orafi.
Hotel room and staff very pleasant nice and attentive. HOWEVER, the climate control in the rooms are lacking, THE ROOMS ARE EXTREMELY HOT, even if they gave us an electric fan. The amount of money that was paid for the room is not worth the comfort they provided. The location is great it is right next to Ponte Vecchio but the ROOM TEMPERATURE IS HORRIBLE for a €275 a night seriously this is not worth the money!!
We were excited to return to the degli orafi but sadly this stay fell a wee bit short of expectations On the plus side I think we had a room upgrade as our suite was more spacious than expected and was beautifully decorated- the hotel t shirts were a lovely touch too. On the down side the bathroom was awful - cracked loo seat and shower cubicle that was cracked and didn’t close. Small things too, like no shampoo but two different types of hair conditioner On previous visits we were always given a complimentary drink at the roof bar. Sadly this welcome no longer exists. The roof bar is as beautiful as always and the barman Darius was so lovely but the £££ for two drinks was a joke. The porters were really lovely And helpful and staff at breakfast were lovely too but quality of breakfast didn’t compare well to other places we visited on this trip, for example fresh fruit was limited or not best quality overall a nice hotel in a fabulous location but a bit worn at the edges - great for a quick stay but for us third time unlucky…
