My family of four and I stayed in the top floor suite. Two bedrooms (one modest with twin beds and one massive with king bed), giant windows that opened wide for fabulous cross breezes, bright, airy, and spacious double sink bathroom, and a humbling view of the Duomo. Only a block and a half from the Duomo, short walk to...

This was our first experience at a bed and breakfast. We were close to our estimated arrival time close to noon. When we arrived the entry doors were locked. Fortunately someone was leaving the building and let us in. You have to go up the stairs to find the manager and fortunately she was there. We were able to leave...

My husband and I stayed for two nights. Our room was lovely. The bed was comfortable, and the room was very clean. The Inn is small and intimate. The location was perfect. It is walking distance to everything we wanted to do. The staff were friendly and helpful. They assisted us in making dinner reservations. We truly loved Florence and...

Great Location, the hotel is small but has big rooms well decorated. It is really close to Santa Maria del Fiore church, 2 blocks walking distance and 20 min walking from the main train station. Be aware that you have to climb stairs to get to the rooms, so it is better if you could carry small luggage. I had...

The rooms are in a building that was built in the 1300 to 1600s, great modern updates with a few expected quiks. But, the absolute must reason why you need to go to dei Pucci is because of the owner-manager; talk to her for 10 minutes and you'll feel like you have a friend in Florence who speaks beautiful English...

Lots of superlatives for this place: A nice, spacious room for a pretty good price that's around the corner from the Duomo. That's all that you really need to recommend it right there. The negatives are nitpicks: Pretty sparse (though free) breakfast and some erratic water heat in the shower. One host was considerably nicer than the other, but it...

We stayed here for just one night on our way to Puglia. It's a nice place in the heart of Florence. Just a short walk to the Duomo and Point Vecchio. The people who work here are very helpful too. The beds were comfortable as well. The only problem was the noise. It is located on top of Shot Cafe...

We stayed here for 3 nights during a recent trip to Florence. The location was excellent. It was in the middle of time and nothing was really more than a 15 minute walk away. The ladies that ran the hotel (Rosella and Marina, I may have these incorrect) were fabulous. They gave GREAT recommendations from dining to where to shop....

This is a wonderful and convenient place to stay in Florence. 3 of us stayed in one room and it was huge and very comfortable. We had many emails before we arrived and received so much help from Rosella & Marina that it felt like we were friends when we arrived. The location was perfect. When I left my 2...

Overall a decent stay. Very clean and convenient location. They serve a standard Italian style breakfast with bread + pastry and I am ok with that. It's a nice break from the standard egg + bacon. Like other travelers we had problem with the internet (the wifi signal is fine but no internet connection). Eventually we asked the staff about...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
