The Hotel Globus is near the termini, and close walking distance to the sites of Florence. The neighborhood is what I would consider seedy at night. The room we were in was so small, the two of us could not open our luggage at the same time - and the shower was not large enough for anyone other than a...

Just got back from a couple of nights in the Globus in Florence. Can't believe the person who said it was smelly and dirty was staying in the same place! My daughter and I were in a basic twin room (103). OK, it was small and the view was non-existent, but it extremely well appointed, very quiet and spotlessly clean....

The plus side of the Globus Hotel is its proximity to the duomo, train station and Medici Chapel and a helpful hotel staff. As to the negative, the rooms were miniscule, even for Italy. I have been vacationing in Italy at least one week a year for the last twenty years and I have yet to spend time in a...

Dear Sirs, first of all we want to thank you for your feedback as they help us improve our service. On the other hand, this time we feel is necessary to express our opinion about it. We would like to explain that the room you stayed in was over 22 square meters, quite larger than most of the rooms that...

This was a great value. The rooms are very clean and nice - modern design. The location is excellent right in the middle of the historic area. I can't imagine why anyone would spend more money on a hotel in this area. This was perfect. The location on a narrow street wedged between shops and cafes adds to its ambiance.

Hotel was clean, safe, modern, in good shape and 2-3 blocks from the train station. Provided full breakfast and is close to shops and eateries. Not much of a view from my window due to being so close to other buildings. Don't bring heavy luggages since the reception desk is a second floor walk-up. Since Florence was small, I was...

Two of my MBA school girl friends and I spent 3 days in Florence at this hotel (triple with 3 single beds). We booked online and that went smoothly. The site does offer some discounts so should have a look. Given that we were spending such a short time in Florence (2 days) we wanted to be able to see...

I spent 2 nights at the Hotel Globus and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located a short walk from the train station and also a short walk form the Duomo in Florence. The rooms are definitely on the small side but they are clean and modern. I have stayed at several hotels in...

Hotel Globus is a disgusting hotel. The bed linens were dirty and the view was of the trash pile below. It was smelly and the room was awkward and too small to even fit one large suitcase. What a terrible way to end a lovely Tuscan vacation. The staff is helpful and the location is good but the hotel itself...

I stayed in a single room on the third floor of the Hotel Globus for about a week, and found it very comfortable. The room was rather small but clean and had everything I needed. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Globus was completely renovated in June 2016. The new reception area, located on the street level of Via Sant'Antonino, is now connected to all rooms thanks to our new elevator. The new breakfast area overlooks a small courtyard with a nice vertical garden. Our staff is a mixture of all ages, languages, cultures and countries, always smiling and willing to offer you tips on places to visit, restaurants to try. They're always there for you. For what regards our location, it is definitely one of the key features of Globus. The proximity to all the Santa Maria Novella train station and all main attractions, including the Duomo, both major museums (Uffizi and Accademia Galleries) or Ponte Vecchio, among others, makes it very easy to plan even the busiest day without the need to lose time getting from the hotel to your desired location. What makes our neighbourhood special though is definitely the Mercato Centrale, located just around the corner from here. In the morning, that is where you want to go if you're planning to buy some food to take back home, or simply want to try the famous Tuscan specialties, "trippa" and "lampredotto". Where this place shines though is the 1st floor, open from 10am until midnight. It's a big, modern open space with many restaurants, serving a variety of really delicious food. Make sure to check it out! ... more   less
