This hotel makes you feel like you are in Florence from the very first step in the door. The room was gorgeous with original features, but the breakfast room and food was really stunning. Highly recommend.

What a treat to stay in this beautiful hotel. We were obviously upgraded from a standard double room to an apartment which was complete with an entire sitting room, dining table, and its own Nespresso machine. The furnishings were luxurious with beautiful draperies and bedding. Much thought was put into detail. We were sad to only be staying the night...

This is a hidden secret right next door to the Duomo. On a quite street, this historical palace allows you a glimpse of what it must have been like to live in a great Italian Palace. Our room was unbelievable, large, with Fresco paintings on the walls. We love history and this style was perfect for us, with a very...

We just left the Niccolini al Duomo a few days ago. It's location in Florence is wonderful, private and very special. The family runs this small boutique hotel. Breakfast is perfect, the rooms have an old world flair, while offering modern amenities and great Wi-Fi. Their restaurant recommendations were spot on. Florence is entirely walkable, and we would definitely return...

This hotel is really an old Palazzo that has been divided up into rooms in which to stay. Our room (#9) was HUGE with a beautiful marble bathroom with a tub and a separate shower. The ceiling had frescos painted on it and the height of the ceiling was about 20 feet. The windows in this room look out directly...

I spent most of our six-day stay congratulating myself for having chosen Palazzo Niccolini as our temporary residence. Before our arrival, they had been very helpful in making arrangements for our airport transfer and for a day trip into the Tuscan countryside. But to see the beautifully restored palazzo, and then our wonderful suite with a postcard view of the...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
