I booked this hotel and paid to have a room overlooking the Piazza Santa Maria Novells. The room was very nice. Lots of space, complimentary water. Beautiful bathroom. The included breakfast with self-serve prosecco was also very nice. The view of the piazza was great during the daytime. I could spend hours just watching the stream of people. However, in the evenings, the Club Santa (a bar that is also part of the hotel) would go until 2 AM. Even with the windows closed on the third floor, it was too much. I was there for four days and Monday was the only day the club was closed. Otherwise open & noisy until 2 AM, Even on Sunday. Fortunately, I travel with ear plugs.
The most outstanding hotel we stayed in during our trip to Italy. It was more than a perfect location and the hotel was plush and the room sumptuous so large and comfy for the location! The absolute best breakfast and breakfast room where bottles of Prosecco were available every day. Great recommendations to restaurants and all round exceptional service we could actually have moved in and live the best life forever! The reception and all other staff were unbelievably helpful, everyone smiled and nothing was too much trouble. We loved the location and the square 300 meters from train station just close to everything
This is a lovely small hotel overlooking the beautiful church of the same name. It was definitely worth paying for a room with a view. The breakfast was served in a fabulous domed round room and was very good served by engaging staff. We will definitely stay there if we are lucky to go again to Florence again.
2nd time in 15 years...This is a lovely hotel with a cordial staff and is in a great location! Our room was smallish but has retained it's old-world-charm and the bed is comfy. We had a great view over the piazza and church. The only issue was the food. The breakfast room is beautiful but compared to most European hotel breakfasts, the food was disappointingly mediocre. The first time we were there it was wonderful and fresh. We can only attribute the downfall to the fact that (we're pretty sure) the hotel was sold since our first stay and this is a way of cutting corners. Too bad because everything else is very nice.
Superior room with a view for 4 nights included a room that included 2 elevators 2 flights of stairs and a a room with 3 flights of stairs from the bathroom to the bedroom- do th math in the middle of the night - the view was from the top step to the bedroom - if you really want to hangout there - What a bust
We stayed here on our first visit to Florence several years ago and it is still a favorite! Great location, very welcoming and comfortable! The public rooms feel homey with that elevated European vibe from centuries ago! We’ll be back!
We’ve been to stay here for 3 nights and we’re taken a back at how beautiful the location of the hotel was . The decor is I would say very regal and you could sense I’m going get the best service here …… and we did . Very welcoming helpful reception staff . The bedroom was very spacious and the ac is perfect for when you get back in from the heat outside . Breakfast area clean , professional and very attentive staff nothing is too much trouble . Lots of variety and the whole experience has just been perfect It’s only like 5/7 minutes walk from the train station too . Highly recommend a stay here if you are thinking of going to Florence
This hotel was very easy to find and only a few minutes walk to the train station so even with suitcases/roller bags it is not tough to get to the hotel if you have a few roller bags. The staff were super and got us into our room ahead of schedule which was lovely. It was a super location at the edge of the the central Florence...Keep for all ways of describing it. Given that there is City... around it; you are in effect in the stunning Medieval Renaissance portion of the City. Think about walking around a giant castle style city in construction. The hotel is a bit like a maze. It is all sorts of random hallways with elevators in strange locations, and odd sets of steps. But it is actually a nice compliment to how the city is. The room was beautiful. Exactly what you would think of Italy. The bathroom was all travertine and clean. The bed was comfortable (all beds in Italy are harder than we are used to), and sheets were clean. Our room did not have a view, but that is okay since we were only there to cool off or sleep. Otherwise we were out wandering the city. The breakfast was amazing! Super offerings. Italians do not eat much for breakfast. They gave traditional, as well as fruit salads, yogurts, breads for toasting, meats, cheeses, salad, and the traditional eggs sausage bacon. The only thing I would say is, the bar. It was super getting to sit out on the patio and have a drink with snacks the one night. They call themselves a club but there is no place to dance. The music was obnoxiously loud. If they turned it down to half, it would have been super and we would have eaten there. But you have to yell to hear the person only a foot away.…
A short walk from the train station, this elegant hotel sits on the beautiful piazza of Santa Maria Novella. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room is lovely, a bar attached for late night drinks, and a roof terrace to see the gorgeous view of Florence. It is situated close to the duomo and other museums. My room, with a street view was definitely large enough for two people. A taxi is also easily attainable from this location. I have lived in Florence and visited many times, and this hotel is the best I have stayed at!
I have stayed at this hotel four times in the past and would stay again in a heartbeat. Hotel staff is extremely helpful and courteous. The hotel itself is elegantly decorated and immaculately clean. The rooms are large and amazingly comfortable. The hotel location is incredible. Just a short walk to the Medici chapels, the Duomo, Piazza della Senoria, Piazza della Republica and the Ufizzi Gallery. I can’t say enough good about this place, I will definitely stay there next time I am in Florence.
