So many hotels seek to fulfil that strapline of 'home from home.' This is the closest I've ever experienced. JK Place is a small, beautiful jewel. The 20 rooms give an intimacy that adds to the charm, whilst there is none of the awkwardness that can come with too much intimacy. The decor in the public areas is both stylish,...

Now that the works in Piazza Santa Maria Novella are finished, we returned again to JK Place. This is a truly world class establishment, and I struggle to think of anywhere I have been with better service. The staff are, without exception, charming and super efficient. The suites with a view over the square are delightful, being very well equipped...

Weekend break in Florence. Had booked a classic room. Advertised as 25 sqm (250sqf) on hotel's own website and various online travel sites. Shocked how small room was in reality - just not enough space to spend any time in, immediately felt claustrophobic. Curious, used tape measure. Room (#203) was 359cm across and 344cm long. For a total area of...

This is one of my top three hotel experiences. Everything about this hotel is fantastic.....the staff is friendly and overly accommodating...the food is outstanding....and the rooms are beautifully appointed. I stayed in a suite with two full baths and a large living room. Spotless, spacious and cozy. The location was perfect as well, two min walk to train station, short...

This hotel is one of my favorites ever!! We stayed in 2014 and I never wrote a review till now. Gorgeous, huge suites, amazing staff, the best general manager, and the coolest bar. I always recommend this hotel to all my friends and can't wait to stay here again. Also, the best location centrally located in Rome!!!

We stayed one night . The staff are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. It is a small space but doesn't feel a compromise. Our room was a suite it had a walk in robe and 2 bathrooms. The Sheets were linen , the bed and pillows very comfortable. I had the best sleep in 2 weeks and...

Stayed for a night on way to tuscany ...previously stayed at their Rome facility which I must say we enjoyed better...room was a suite but the bedroom was on a mezzanine without a closet and felt very disjointed . We hate sleeping on hard pillows and every other 5 star hotel could provide soft feather pillows. They could not! we...

Wonderful hotel. The staff was so welcoming and the lobby and breakfast area is very comfortable. Lovely rooftop for drinks at night. Our room was a bit small and the windows opened on to an air shaft, but the room and beds were very comfortable.

Such a lovely surprise arriving at JK because it felt like i was checking into a friends house not a hotel. So cozy and quaint, absolutely loved the experience. Excellent location, great service and just a lovely charming property.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Comfort, sophistication, style and value right in the heart of Florence. J.K Place has carved out an exceptionally pleasant niche for itself, a niche that’s just seconds from the door of the stunning church of Santa Maria Novella. All the major sites are within easy walking distance. The rooms: Just twenty of them, snazzy, characterful, no two are alike, and all with signature soft furnishings in creams, granges and neutrals offset with contrasting piping in an effortlessly chic Anouska meets Ralph love-in. The glass covered courtyard and roof terrace beckon on warmer days whilst winter afternoons are best spent huddled by the fireplace in the J.K Lounge with a thick slice of cake and a steaming hot cioccolata con panna. Add very friendly, discreet service plus probably the city’s best Concierge and you are just asking for a good time! ... more   less
