Adler Cavalieri Hotel is an hotel in the heart of the historical centre of Florence. The hotel is located in Via Della Scala, the old wayfarers' road to the city centre. The Hotel palace was built on the ruins of an ancient monastery dated back to 1300, right in front of the old Santa Maria Della Scala Hospital, from which the street took its name. The hotel is just a few steps from the main railway station of SANTA MARIA NOVELLA and Florence exhibition-congress centre FORTEZZA DA BASSO. Hotel guests can reach all the most important Florence monuments in few minutes' cheering walk: the DUOMO, PIAZZA DELLA SIGNORIA, PONTE VECCHIO, PALAZZO PITTI, SANTA CROCE, and the historical areas placed on the hills around the city. The Hotel has 60 comfortable and elegant rooms air conditioned and equipped with all the modern technologies ( SAT TV, High-speed internet connection free of charge, regulation of temperature ) Our guest can have cold and breakfast in our Restaurant at the Ground floor and in our garden during the summer season.

The hotel is very close to the railway and bus station, but it is still very quiet and safe. It is also close to major attractions (15-20 mins walk to most).
Beds were comfortable, bathroom and all furniture nice, reliable wifi, and we could easily link our phone to TV for watching some videos after a tiring day.
We got an upgrade for free to a bigger room (we stayed for 6 nights)
There is a self service lavanderia (laundry) very close.
Due to covid situation, the breakfast was not really buffet breakfast, but that's what Italian regulations currently require, so it's not their fault.
The receptionists were very helpful and spoke very good English.
I loved staying there and would happily return.

The Adler Cavalieri Hotel was a superb hotel. I liked everything about it. When choosing a hotel, one has a lot of choices. It met all of the criteria that I look for in a hotel in Europe. It was very nicely designed with character adding to the spirit of my trip in Florence Italy (one of the most magnificent cities of the world). The room was spacious, clean, very comfortable. The bed was very nice. The bathroom was very nice with space, a comfortable shower. The tv was nice as well, not that I care about TV at all when traveling in Europe but the quality of the sound and screen of the tv was especially good. (I turned on the tv once in my entire trip in Europe) and I think this just adds to the quality of this hotel. The hotel is located in a superb neighborhood that is both quiet but a very close walk to all of the attractions of Florence. And all of the staff (including the maid) were all wonderful. So, for me, it met all of the criteria I was looking for and enhanced my special celebration of turning 60 years old in Florence Italy. Out of a score of 1-10, the Adler Cavalieri Hotel scores a 10!! A great hotel!!!

A 3* hotel that exceeded my expectations. Well placed next to the SMN railway station, and literally next to the SMN bus station for Siena and other Tuscan town. The hotel is also not that far from the Florence historic centre. There is also a supermarket very close by. I stayed in a single room, no 315, for 2 nights. Although a single it was not very small, as so often in Italy. The bed was also not too narrow for a large person like me, and was comfortable. Bathroom was large, with a bathtub. Towels were soft and fluffy, of good quality. Cleanliness was very good, and maintained so throughout my stay. The wardrobe was large enough, and the safe & minibar were useful. Overall, the hotel is not a new one, with rather old furniture that shows its age, but I like old-fashioned hotels so it was fine for me. Breakfast was very good, and the service at breakfast was excellent, which is so rare nowadays, even in high star hotels, kudos to the tall Italian guy running the breakfast room from the bar. Also of great help was the young lady from the reception, always helping efficiently, kindly, with a smile.

Walls are paper-thin, you can hear everything from the adjoining rooms. It was not warm enough in my room, the AC showed it was working towards 22 degrees, but in fact in was not, and temperature stayed at 19 degrees, which was uncomfortable for me. TV was very small.

total disappointment with this hotel, we stayed only one night and was enough to generate discontent and frustration. air conditioning did not work (temperature was 38a) and those who were at the reception said to have to wait for the other day to try a maintenance, dirty room, breakfast that does not match the quality of the photos on the site, good location but there are many other hotels in the same street.
the people who were at the reception the other day said that we would receive chargeback of the amount paid for the inconvenience, which did not occur on the contrary , I received an e-mail saying that this information does not proceed
I do not suggest and do not recommend to anyone. Staying in this establishment can compromise the pleasure of your trip.

The suprise was a doubling of the price, The "reservation manager " is arrogant & useless. I recommend confirming & reconfirming before you get there. Otherwise the location is great, theres a steam sauna in the basement that is free to guests in the mornings otherwise it's a $49 euro charge. The restaurant staff is attentive and lovely. All the workers at the front desk are friendly & helpful.

If convenience from the train station is important. You have it here. After that, not as described/reviewed. Got there and thought, let’s check out the relaxation/spa area. If they told me it was still closed for covid, I would be ok with that, but closed for renovation. What were they doing for they past year and a half?

Day one, bought a nice bottle of wine at the wine shop to come back and enjoy in our room to relax before dinner. Asked the front desk for a couple of glasses and handed 2 individually wrapped plastic cups. Asked if there were any glasses in the bar/breakfast area and told no.

Next morning, went to breakfast, full bar with every glass type imaginable. And then there was the “free breakfast. “. Powdered eggs, canned peaches, pears, fruit cocktail. Stale bread. Tried cafe 3 ways(espresso/cappuccino,americano). Always tasted burnt. We had been in Italy for 8 days before this so we had already been exposed to good coffee/fresh fruit/meats/cheeses/pastries. This had none. By day 3, just decided to go out for breakfast.

Rooms were ok. Mildew in the tubs, toilette would only work if you took the plastic cover off and manipulated the handles yourself. On the last day, had one woman at the desk who seemed interested in having guests.

Finally, hotel is about 2 blocks too far away from the square. Started to get a little sketchy walking home after 9pm. Nowhere near Naples sketchy, but definitely keep your head down and walk type area.

Florence is amazing, but can’t recommend this hotel.

The Alder Cavalieri is just 5 minutes from the train station, perfect for a delayed flight and to our surprise a delayed train.
A friendly welcome and a comfortable room belied a bed that was a dream to sleep in.
Managed to not pack a European adapter, the reception had one and gave to us gratis. Beware the plastic breakers for tea as they become very unstable when hot! Toilet seat needed fixing, we reported and it was sorted immediately.
Breakfast was excellent with a selection of teas, fresh coffee, pastries, eggs and a really good gluten free selection. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice to be able to sit in the conservatory in the morning.
Very centrally located with some excellent bars (The Joshua Tree) and many other good local restaurants all within a stones throw from the hotel.

I stayed here with my Girlfriend and the location was ideal for us. Every day we had to ask for the tea, coffee and milk to be replenished and even that didn’t work. Just went to reception again and there is nobody else in there apart from me, receptionist and I believe concierge.. so I wait and wait and then nobody asks what I want..
booked for 5 nights and will most probably leave after 4.. rooms are basic but you hear every bit of noise. We are by the lift so you can imagine what that’s like..

First of all, I visited Italy on my honeymoon and had a great time in Florence, but I am so upset and angry that my good memories of Florence have been tarnished because of this hotel.. Because of the advantage of being close to the station, I stayed with my wife because the reviews were good even though it is an old hotel. I made a reservation. After arriving at the accommodation, I thought it was because the facilities and rooms were older than expected, but the bathroom faucet seemed to be leaking, so when the staff asked me how I was feeling, I checked out and said that it was difficult because the bathroom was a bit old. I checked out at 8:30 a.m. and moved to Rome. At around 6 p.m., an additional 300 euros was suddenly charged under the hotel's name, so I contacted the Adler Cavalieri Hotel. There was no response, so I contacted the hotel by phone for help, and the reply I received was that I broke the toilet and ran away. Then, they informed me that they would take the cost of repairing the toilet from my credit card and just robbed me. . I have never left a review like this before, but I am leaving a review to prevent a second victim from becoming a second victim and to make sure the hotel in question reads this post. If you have no choice but to use this hotel, definitely!! Be sure to leave a video when checking in!! This place uses outdated hotel facilities as an excuse to rip off guests!
