We found this accommodation comfortable and certainly more economical than many other Florence options. While the rooms are plain and simple, the old building and the story of the religious order are interesting. We booked a triple room to have extra space for the two of us, but the doubles we looked into also seemed a decent size. We asked...

My wife and I booked this venue for a 2 night stay in December, 2015. We booked this venue, along with 3 others through MonasteryStays.com. The bathroom was described as private as was the case for the other 3 venues we booked. Well, the other 3 venues all had bathrooms in the guest rooms, which is what we had assumed...

A group of 11 retired culture pilgrims enjoyed a very happy four nights in the Piazza del Carmine. The location is excellent with the cultural centre of Florence within a 10 minute walk but being on the wrong side of the river you are well away from the crowds. Rooms were simple but clean and reasonably spacious. Unfortunately there are...

We arrived by train and walked over the bridge to the convent. Ask for a room looking onto the garden. This neighborhood is real. Easy walk to all the sites. The breakfast was a nice spread. The building feels historic and very spacious. A local place to eat,Trattoria Al Tranvai was real. The chianti table wine is good. The nearby...

This magnificent historical old building has an imposing presence. It is very clean and comfortable, and has a wonderful rear garden. The room was clean, very large but basic with private facilities. The breakfast was also very good. With a 'D' bus stop outside you have easy access to the Main train station and most attractions. We enjoyed the easy...

Spent a week here by myself and for the most felt secure, comfortable and happy. Rooms were large and clean. Breakfast was simple but ample. Staff for the most most part was pleasant and helpful with the exception of my check-out. Woman behind desk couldn't access a taxi for me going to the train station. I would have walked the...

Very comfortable and impeccably clean! The rooms are large and the beds softer than other places. It's across the Arno from the busier, more touristy part of Florence which makes it a little quieter. All the sites and sounds of Florence are only a few blocks away! Very walkable city! The staff are helpful, kind and friendly. And you get...

We had a lovely stay at this place which is rich in history and yet simple in its presentation and situated within walking distance to Florence's tourist hub. Breakfast was adequate, staff were polite and helpful, and we loved the secret garden accessible through large patio doors from the breakfast/dining area. Very quaint, quiet and restful. Plus the best gelatto...

The staff here are wonderfully friendly and helpful, the rooms are larger than most, and the beds softer than average, and everything was impeccably clean. The location puts it just out of the way of the highest tourist traffic, which means you get to interact with more locals. There are several very nice restaurants close by, but, of course, Florence...

I realized from reading the reviews that this had been a convent, and the standard would be simple and plain. This proved to be correct. What I was not expecting was the lovely environment - both in and out. This is originally an old palace and many details have been retained. The garden is lovely at all times of day....
