The monastery has helped the Holicaust survivors. Now they have converted most of the convent into a hotel. Awesome historic building. There are great old furniture in it. You actually use them, sit on them. However the rooms has basic necessities. Nothing extravagant . Dont...More
The staff are very helpful and friendly and the rooms clean. The breakfast is simple but good. For a family of 5, we booked two rooms - both with washrooms.

A warm evening with a cocktail in your hand and great company is the ideal way to experience Piazza Santo Spirito; the area is busiest at sunset for happy hour. Visitors cannot hide their astonishment sitting on the staircase under the Basilica of Santo Spirito, and they cannot help but stare at the architectural masterpieces like Bianca Cappello House, Fontana dello Sprone and San Frediano in Cestello and Santa Maria
delle Carmine churches. Tourists and Florentines alike join up in the area between Santo Spirito and San Frediano, connecting the Tuscan soul to the international spirit permeating the city.

We did find out that the desk had hair dryers that they would "loan" out to guests that had apparently been left by former guests. While "no frills", this was a very comfortable stay. Loved the atmosphere! Quiet, too, while being within easy walking distance of the best Florence has to offer. Take the desk clerk's advice on where to go to dinner in the area. Fabulous!! Friendly, excellent food, and wonderful service. Couldn't have been happier!
