I am not sure how Hotel Davanzati came across our radar, but I'm happy it did. We spent one night here, arriving early via tram from airport around 10 am. They happily held our luggage and offered suggestions for lunch until our room was ready. Returning later that day we were shown to our room on the third level with our bags waiting for us. We enjoyed a glass of Prosecco during happy hour that evening. Breakfast the next morning was lovely - cappuccino, cold cuts, cheese, hard boiled eggs and fruit. Again, they happily held our luggage while we explored the town before catching our train at noon. The staff are very friendly and the accommodations very clean. Would highly recommend.
Perfect location. Very reasonable rates - that include breakfast and a daily ‘happy hour’ for guests! Leonardo was exceptionally friendly and helpful with all our questions and very responsive to whatever we needed. The Davanzati will be at the top of our list for a return visit to Florence.
Good value. The place is a little rough around the edges - worn furnishings, etc, but the location is in the middle of it all, right next to the Uffuzi. Leonardo at the front desk is really super - very friendly and helpful, unlike some of the other male staff who seem a little jaded around their non-Italian speaking guests. Overall, very good accommodations.
I stayed here yet again on a trip to Florence. The excellent standard set by this family run hotel is still maintained. Great room, fantastic breakfast ( great coffee) and above all the friendliness of Fabrizio and Leonardo at the front desk. A jewel in Florence.
I’ve been staying at the Davanzati 13 years and I’ve never been tempted away. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of the major sights on both sides of the river. All the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful; it is family owned and managed and the emphasis is on offering a personal service. The rooms are clean, spacious, heated in winter and have air conditioning for summer. Touches such as the included breakfast, afternoon tea and aperitivo hour are very welcome. The Davanzati is a great hotel and good value.
Hotel Davanazati is ideally located, literally a five minute walk to all the history at the Piazza Republica. The staff is amazing, thank you Leonardo for all your help (even with our toll highway mistake LOL), thank you Constin for the great conversations and dinner recommendations and to Angel for the amazing breakfasts. We hope to come back and we will definitely recommend you to friends!
My husband and I planned an unforgettable Italy trip in 2020 to celebrate our 10th Anniversary. COVID made us pivot and push our trip to 2022. We researched Florence hotels and found this family owned gem serendipitously. Hotel Davazanti extends hospitality and expert recommendations to all patrons. We enjoyed the convenient location, Appretivo Hour (an opportunity to meet other guests, sip 🍷 and nibble small bites) and the stellar breakfast. As a marketing expert, I appreciated the subtle ways they brand EVERYTHING from the Chianti and wine glasses to the breakfast plates and cappuccino mugs. Finally, we were extremely grateful for a late check-out so we could quickly visit the Duomo. We are planning a return in 2023!
This is a wonderful hotel in the center of Florence. It was our third time staying there and since we love Florence, we will be back. The staff is sooo friendly, welcoming and helpful. My luggage failed to arrive on the flight and the Davanzati staff continually called the airline to see if it had arrived. I finally got it some days later but everyone at the hotel went above and beyond. The hotel breakfast is very good and all coffees are made to order. There is also a nice happy hour from 1830 with free wine and Prosecco. As they point out on their website, guests must go up some 25 steps from the street to the entrance of the hotel before getting on an elevator. This was no issue for us, but it must be mentioned as the sole drawback to an otherwise wonderful hotel.
We are just checking out and I couldn’t wait to write them a review. Location was fantastic! We easily walked from the train station with our carry-on size luggage. There is a staircase before reaching the elevator to the reception area, but we didn’t have much trouble. We arrived early, and they offered to hold our bags, and use their restroom to freshen up before heading out. The hotel is located right in the middle of the shops and historical sites. The staff was so friendly. Room was spacious. We enjoyed the breakfast and happy hour. It was a nice touch! First meal was at Nella’s Restaurant, which was just around the corner, and it was great! If we come back to Florence, this is the hotel we will be staying at. Book with confidence.
Super helpful and friendly staff, comfortable and clean rooms, and very good breakfast, snack, and happy hour. This hotel was an absolute pleasure to stay in during my solo trip to Florence. I'd absolutely stay again. The staff is knowledgable about the area and has great recommendations and made finding my way around the neighborhood a breeze. I'd highly recommend this place!
