Wonderful hotel. Will definitely recommend to friends and family. Can understand why repeat visitors return to Davanzati. Level of care is well above standard, plus clean, friendly and easy walking distance to all major attractions.

Came back to Florence 8 years later and stayed at Davanzati again. This hotel has maintained the same high level of service standards. Hotel owner Fabrizio is very warm and sincere to all guests and so are the ladies serving at morning breakfasts. The rooms are equipped with ipads which are very convenient for communicating with hotel on matter like...

This hotel is clean, affordable and near most major attractions in Florence. The staff was extremely helpful and professional. I ask for a dinner recommendation and they gave me a small family restaurant (Ristorante Natalino) that was delicious. The continental breakfast was very good, they have a happy hour in the evening where you can get free wine and visit...

My family of four stayed in a junior suite, which had a king-size bed and a sofa bed that had been turned into two single beds (little narrower than twin beds). My two teens did not mind sleeping on these beds at all. The suite was spacious. It was unusual that the shower was right by the front door and...

The location of this hotel is fantastic, within walking distance of everything you want to see in Florence. The hotel also gives each room an iPad with data which can be used while walking around the city. We found this very useful for directions as we were relying on wifi when using our phones. We enjoyed being able to go...

Stayed at the hotel 3.2017 during a conference. When asked by colleagues what is the name of my hotel, I replied: Perfect. They said: this is the name, perfect ? No, I said, the name is "Davanzati" but it is just perfect. Nothing to add, actually. Enjoy!

This is our first time staying in Florence, and I'm so glad we're staying at the Hotel Davanzati! The location is perfect (everything is walkable -- even the train station), the staff is lovely and helpful, and the rooms are gorgeous! Tuscan tile, exposed beams, homey feel, and noise-canceling windows all make this hotel unique and charming. They give you...

We stayed here for two nights in mid-March. We arrived early afternoon and were greeted like family. The initial stairs you have to climb are a little challenging with luggage, but manageable. We were in a junior suite and it was a great layout. Plenty of room for our family of four. Definite attention to detail. In the information left...

Great stay here for 2 nights. Wish it had been longer. The hotel is in a great spot. Walkable to and from everything - the train station, the museums, the leather market, Duomo...everything is very close. The hotel is clean and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast (cereal, fruit, pastries and great coffee) was just right and...

The Hotel Davanzati was a great base for us. Whether it was shopping, sightseeing or dining, everything was a short walk away. Our room was very large, the bathroom was a little small, but it was spotless. We were skeptical to take hotel recommendations for dinner lest it was a favoritism system, but the ones we found on our own...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
