We read great things about this hotel and they are all true. We stayed in many hotels in Europe during April 2006 and this was by far the best. The staff (Miriam) was wonderful. The rooms were amazing. Our room (a quad) was huge with a large bathroom. It had a large window that opened into a small courtyard area....

Beautiful memories from a lovely hotel. Gracious, helpful owners and perfect location. Decor, furnishings and frescos make for a warm and relaxing evening in your room or in the sitting area. Thank you so much for the English guidebooks to review, CNN and Internet access. Our hotel in Rome did not provide any of these conveniences. I have already recommended...

If you want a very friendly, clean, reasonable, excellently located family run hotel in Florence then you want to stay at the Europa. Do not be decieved by the entrance or the fact that it is on the main street - go up the stairs and enter what will make your stay in Florence a wonderful experience. If you can,...

Stayed here for 4 nights and we had 3 rooms. 1st - The Dante Suite - wonderful, large with a view of the Duomo. Bathroom was also large with a tub/shower. Perfect! 2nd - room right next to dante suite - Triple room and even with 3 of us in the room it was plenty big. Bathroom very large and...

We LOVED the Hotel Europa! Miriam and Gassim were wonderful hosts and treated us like family. They were so friendly, helpful, and kind that we did not want to leave! The staff at this hotel will direct you in every aspect of your stay from finding your way around town, to helping you return your rental car (lol-Miriam), to helping...

We stayed at this small hotel on a last minutes notice. We were recommended this hotel from another hotel that we previously stayed at. (We took that as a good sign) This hotel is owned and family managed. We can't stress enough the graciousness and courtesy we were given. Smiles all around and our comfort was an evident priority of...

My wife, 21 month old and I stayed at the Europa for 3 nights in early April and were overwhelmed by how wonderful the hotel staff were. Their recommendations for where to eat were very good. They were very helpful and pointed us in the right direction when we had questiosn. Our room was nicely decorated, much bigger than we...

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in April 2006. We found it very nice, just as described here. Gassim and Miriam were very friendly and helpful; Gassim remembered our first names from the very beginning. Their suggestions on shops and restaurants were very good. We had a suite the first night, and because the suites were full, a...

My wife and I stayed here at the start of March; we can confirm everything that has been said about this hotel. If you want a comfortable, relaxing, central base to explore Florence this is a fantastic choice. We stayed in a suite, more a large room, but clean, spacious and excellent value. The location is spot on with the...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
