This is a simple accommodation that is clean and welcoming. It was generally quiet, but I would recommend requesting a courtyard room if road noise bothers you. The location and price really can't be beat. It is blocks away from the Duomo and within walking distance to most of Florence.

I booked a room with ensuite bathroom - simple, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast in the dining area overlooked a 'green oasis'- a spacious blossoming garden, while the sound of the nuns singing in a nearby chapel drifted in the distance. For solo travellers, the breakfast room also provides opportunities to meet and chat with other travellers from around the world....

We travelled in a group of eight family members and stayed for four nights. Enjoyed every minute. Great location. Easy to walk to numerous restaurants, tourist sites and markets. We all had en suite rooms overlooking the garden, so was very quiet. Breakfast was the same each day, but was quite adequate for our needs. All the nuns we met...

I was all set to write a glowing review , as we stayed twice during our trip to Italy. Unfortunately the second time, two of our rooms had bedbugs! We didnt realize until morning , when we had several bites. Perhaps the bugs are just getting started in the building , as our first rooms were fine, and two people in...

My room was clean and had an ensuite bathroom. it was within walking distance of all sites. I would not recommend staying there in the heat of the summer since there is no air conditioning and the streets of Florence are very noisy at night. I stayed there in early April and it was delightful. The breakfast was typical European...

Traveling with a group of 35 we were warmly and professionally received. The location is central, just a 5 minute walk from the Duomo. The sisters run a real retreat within the city. The rooms are spare but well done, plenty of room, good showers, private bathrooms and comfortable beds.

It is true that the facility is in the middle of Florence. Good on the one hand but on the other hand there was noisy partying going on in the streets until about 4:00 AM. Sleep was simply not possible. We asked for a garden view room but were not given one. The noise was so loud and persistent that...

Positives: - Super location. Just a short stroll from the Duomo and restaurants. - Very warm reception from the sisters. These are very happy women. A great advert for their vocation. - Free WiFi in rooms. Negatives - Breakfast is very poor. We abandoned it and ate out locally. This is one of the more expensive convent accommodations and one...

This is a simple, clean and holy place to be while on holiday in Florence. It is squeaky clean and breakfasts are simple with coffee, bread and fruit. There is rarely too much of anything. Try not to foul it up by bringing in foul language, alcohol, bad manners and a sense of ownership. Another traveller here wrote about the...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
