Located on one of the main streets of Florance, 20 minutes away from the center by walking. Only 5 rooms on the first floor of an apartment. An energic and helpful staff. No breakfast room so breakfast was served to our room. But never take a room on the front side because there is a great noise of the traffic...

Tried to book on line and was not able, we had to call when the office opened or send an email. We sent email and still no response 8 hrs later, so if you're interested plan ahead. Very difficult to locate, no directions available on website just an address. Window covering did not go down to block loud street sounds...

We stayed here for 3 nights in april 2016. This place is about 10 minutes walk from the main station Santa Maria Novella. The rooms were cute with basic amenities and very clean. Our host was Barbara - she was really very helpful. She gave us choice of things for breakfast, gave us detailed information about how to move about...

Very hard to find since the ridiculously small sign. When we finally found it there were no one there so we had to call for them. Apparently they had overbooked so we got an other room at an other place. It's a bit further from the city center than the map gave the impression of. Still quite nice.

The staff at this b&b went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. To our every request, they always found a way to say yes. Even for booking the tours around the Tuscan region, they told us we could even tell them the morning itself if we wanted to book it. Loved the place and would definitely return.

My positive experience with this B&B started even before I arrived. While booking the room I made a mistake and booked one night more than I needed. The rate I choose was not refundable and so I didn’t have much hope to get my money back for the extra night. But I still contacted the B&B and explained them my...

I looked long and hard to find a place to stay in Florence and was thrilled to find this B & B. Since I am a very light sleeper, my friend was very gracious to let me have an inside room. It was a beautiful room, very clean, quiet, spacious, and the bed tremendously comfortable, The breakfast was served on...

B&B is not far from SMN rail station by taxi or bus. I recommend taxi (at least on arrival). Entrance is marked only by a small sign. Even the taxi driver almost went past it. Very confusing which bus stop to get off, and still a couple of blocks to walk. Room was comfortable, large and clean but very noisy...

We stayed here for 3 nights and although it was short, it was the most comfortable stay we had since being away from home. The hosts were very friendly and made us feel right at home. Upon arriving late, we were checked in and the lady took the time to write tips and notes for us on a map including...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
