As the name suggest this hotel is just a typical bed and breakfast..located on first floor of a building which has a few more b&bs ..serviced by lift.. Comfortable , clean and spacious rooms.but breakfast was not satisfactory .just a croissant and coffee.although the good part is that they have a microwave and coffee maker for all which one can...

We stayed in bed & breakfast peterson for one night only, but it was definitely worth the money we spent. The location is good, just few minutes walking from the train station. Our room was very nice, clean and comfortable, bed was big enough and good, bathroom was clean and ok. Breakfast was ready and waiting for us in a...

It's actually not near the station at all. It's far away from every attraction. the worst thing of all is the non-stop street noise. You cannot have a good sleep. Find somewhere else. The staff was good. But the location isn't.

My boyfriend and I stayed for one night at the Bed & Bed Peterson. We arrived at Santa Maria Novella train station and found the B & B with no trouble (with a little help from Google maps). We were greeted promptly and shown to our room, which was adorable. The room and bathroom were clean - I didn't smell...

We stayed at a double room with our own bathroom. There are a few things which we didn't feel were quite up to standard... 1. Bathroom The room generally is clean but the bathroom really stunk (I think it's from the drains?). We stayed for 4 nights but were only given 1 day supply of shower gel! 2. Breakfast This...

It was my first time in B&B. The first impression was not good because the entrance was dark and very "underground". The place had bad smell from the sink ( florence smells like that in general). The rooms are very nicelly decorated but the floor seems dirty because is old (although is clean). If you are a person you don't...

The bathroom hadn't been cleaned, it stank, the sheets were filthy. It was incredibly noisy. Do not stay here if you want a good nights sleep. I don't mind staying in places like this but not for 55 euro a night.

Located 20 minutes from the center, it is very conveninent if you come by train... But by cat it was tough to find a parking slot. The closest undergroung parking is located 15 minuted away from the B&B. Rooms & WC were very clean, bed was OK Personnel was nice.

The B&B is cheap, but you get what you pay for. It is very loud at night as you are right next to a very busy road and traffic starts early. Earplugs are highly recommended. The bed was quite creaky and I struggled to sleep. Glad I was only there one night. On the plus side, the owner was friendly,...

If you don't mind squeaky and creaky beds possibly this Bed & Bed will be ok for you . And keep your hands off the wardrobe, it doesn't look clean and nice.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
