I and my friends stayed 3 nights at this hotel last week and we have no complaints at all about it. In fact we must say we were a little skeptic as we booked because some of the latest reviews we read about it were not so nice. But we did indeed find a very friendly and helpful staff and...

I am very surprised to read some of the unflattering comments about this hotel. Given that it is rated as a 2star hotel I think that it is well rated and probably exceeds what I expected. I was a little surpised to find it on the upper floors above apartments but this did not cause us any inconvenience. The lift...

Gee!!! I was curious to check the latest reviews on Hotel Panorama just before leaving for my journey to Italy, and specifically to Florence, and almost panicked! "What the hell" I thought, "all the past reviews seem to describe a good place and now, all of a sudden, such a bad one - something doesn't sound right - where is...

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel. We would describe the rooms as clean but very basic, the beds were comfortable, although our bathroom was in need of a new loo seat as this was badly cracked. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic but adequate. After requesting more...

Agree with other reviewers that this hotel provides value for money within a good central (ish) location for exploring Florence. However, I suspect that our room on the fourth floor was not one of the hotel's best. Whilst undoubtedly clean and upgraded in parts, it was a little shabby around the edges. The towel rail was hanging off the bathroom...

Was looking for a nice cheap hotel to stay in with my wife for five nights. No doubt i was blinded by the beautiful photos on the trip advisor web site.We were given a wonderful view of the duomo .The room was very spacious but reminded me of a school camp dorm. The tacky pictures and nasty dull wall coverings seemed out...

I and my fiance stayed at Hotel Panorama for 3 nights earlier this month, during our roundtrip in Italy, basing our choice on the reviews we had previously read in TripAdvisor. The hotel was exactly as we expected: family-run and located in the centre of Florence short walks away from all the major points of interest. Our room was spotless...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
