We came afternoon and the person who met us was totally unfriendly he questioned us on reservation, number of people and other questions that already are in the reservation. Also, the internet that according to them os working did not work and that person said he will not do nothing. The hotel itself is well located bit this brought a negative impression
We booked here last minute after cancelling another awfully reviewed accommodation. All staff were very welcoming and the room cannot be faulted. Lovely huge bathroom, we had two large balconies and the air con was a godsend! Breakfast was only €5 extra pp a day and was worth the money. The only reason I have given 4 instead of 5 was the location. It's about a 30 min walk from the centre of Florence or there is a train station (refredi) a 5/10 min walk away which only cost €1.50 to get in to the centre. I would recommend.
We stayed at Hotel Careggi with my boyfriend for one nught in July. I liked that the staff was speaking English, which is pretty rare in Italy. He immediately gave us all the information we needed for our 1 day tour around Florence. Room was exactly as described on net, small, clean, equipped with air conditioning, fridge, TV. The bathroom was pretty small but new and clean. We reserved private parking, which is across the street from the hotel. It was safe. Even our room balcony overviewed the parking lot. The bus station to the city center was close, like 100 - 200 m away. You can buy the tickets at the front desk at the hotel. The only thing is that it is very close to the hostpital and you can see ambulance vehicles all night.
Our family of 4 enjoyed a wonderful stay at Hotel Careggi during our visit to Florence. The staff are very friendly and attentive. You can purchase tickets at the front desk to take the city bus to the heart of the city in Florence. It is about a 5 minute walk to the bus stop from the hotel. On the day we checked out of the hotel we left early in the morning to drive to our next destination. Abdel at the front desk was very helpful and provided us with our choice of a fresh pastry for each of us and made us a cup of coffee. Thank you so much Abdel for your kindness and generosity. We truly appreciated it very much. We were able to get ahead of the morning traffic and arrived in good time at Slovenia. This is an excellent hotel to stay at when travelling to Florence.
Our itinerary changed last moment and we were stuck in Florence without a Hotel reservation. Travelling with 2 children its not a good situation to be in. Florence was sold out because of an event that entire week. We managed to get a room for the 4 of us in Careggi. It was last moment so i guess the price we paid was higher than usual. The room was a little worn out and can do with some renovation - yet clean and nice enough. The front desk staff (I guess the owners themselves) were very nice and courteous. The restaurant next door serves good food. Hotel guests get a 10% discount. The breakfast in the morning was not bad. The lady attending the breakfast was smiling and enthusiastic in helping us around. Overall - Good place to stay
Friendly and helpful staff, clean comfy rooms and free breakfast thrown in. Room has air conditioning, a small fridge and free wi fi. On outskirts of city centre and easy transport by bus or even walk it. Looks like a tram line is also being built.
Wasn't best pleased when wife booked a 2 star hotel. But was pleasantly surprised by this. Staff are very helpful and work their socks off.Continental breakfast was included and was good. Located near several bars and restaurants so you didn't have to travel far for a meal or drink. Close to several bus stops so getting into city centre was easy and cheap. We were 3 couples and all got very different rooms. Ours was great very spacious and had a lovely balcony. One was medium sized and one quite small. We did ask if the small room could be changed and they did move one couple the very next day when a bigger room become available. Overall i would recommend this hotel to anyone who's not looking for the Hilton at less than £100 a night.
We had a great time at hotel Careggi! The desk clerks were all so kind and helped us call a cab when we needed one. It's a little ways from downtown. We didn't try public transit, but it is cheap and available. We weren't sure where the bus stop was though to take us into town. Breakfast also supplied in the morning was a big plus.
Best part of the hotel are the staff and the rooms, the new refurnished rooms are beautiful. Staff were very helpful, you can purchase bus tickets from the front desk and it's only a short walk to the nearest bus stop to travel to the centre of Florence. Our room facilities were very good, TV and small fridge which was very useful. Breakfast was okay, nothing special but no specific complaints either, coffee was tasty. Unfortunately the area our room was in a separate building, we were woken up both mornings with continuous hammering and drilling, which we were unsure if it was related to the hotel or a third party. Either way, unfortunately ruined our opportunity to sleep in, and the noise did become irritating. There is a restaurant next door to the hotel which was recommended and was nice. Wifi was okay, but would disconnect on and off from time to time.…
I was impressed with the kindness and helpfulness of the receptionist and the breakfast attendant at Hotel Careggi. I had a single room, it was clean and well serviced. The coffee at breakfast was excellent, and if you need it, they provide gluten-free bread/crackers/biscuits. The hotel is close to the university (ideal for me) and to a major hospital (so you will likely hear ambulances from time to time). I am not an expert on accommodation, but Hotel Careggi seems worthy to me of a good review.
