I really liked this charming hotel. It's been recently refurbished and we had a lovely room with everything you need. Although the room was small, like most hotel rooms in Italian cities, it was very well equipped and nicely decorated. There was a writing desk and space to put suitcases. Very comfortable bed with good linen. We only stayed a...

We had a 5 night stay at this hotel. It was a small familiar hotel very close to the shops and just a 15 minutes walk to the city. Everyone was very kind and helpful with every question we had. The rooms were small but tidy and clean! The breakfast was bit small but sufficient. Maybe you can change the...

The hotel was clean, but hot. The AC could barely keep up. The staff was nice, but not overly knowledgeable - tried to get a suggestion to watch the Euro Cup, but nothing. Breakfast was ok, but the room and food were both hot and uncomfortable. No stairs, so those with heavy bags beware!!! Wish I had booked at the...

Dear Guest, we are sorry, but it's not our fault if you made reservation with us, in a 3 star hotel istead of 4 star hotel as the other hotel is. Florence in this period is very hot, but all our AC work well. You can regular directly from your room. If you needed help, why you did not ask...

This little hotel is such a quaint escape inside Florence. The staff are all so friendly and willing to go the extra mile for their guests. We arrived early and were immediately shown to our room. It was impeccably clean. The breakfast was delicious with an interesting variety of cold items to choose from on their buffet. I would recommend...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
