The rooms were immaculate, the wi-fi and air conditioning worked great. It was a 15 min walk from the main train station and 10 minute walk from the main tourist attractions. That's what matters to me most in accommodations. But, it was more. It was very quiet, the rooms were lovely and had a lot of character. The choices for...

We had a lovely time here as a family for my mothers 60th birthday trip. The service was good, nice breakfast and clean, comfortable rooms. I would recommend this place. It's not like a regular hotel- more of a serviced apartment.

This was in a beautiful homely apartment with very helpful staff. Really a warm and cozy place which was lovely to come back to on a couple of rainy days in Florence. There is vin santo and coffee and cake on the house. Must say that I really liked it. Only thing was that I tended to spend so much...

We stayed for 3 nights in mid-April 2016. From the moment we first inquired about rooms, to our arrival, and to the end of our stay we were met with gracious and endearing and professional folks who made us feel welcome, comfortable, and assisted on our travels. The hotel is beautiful, clean, full of helpful and kind people, with a...

This B&B is small, beautifully designed, quirky, brimming with charm and character and a hidden gem in the hustle and bustle of Florence. We spent three nights here and it felt as if we were staying in our own private home. After a day of rushing around Florence it was a treat to return to the peace and quiet of...

This is the most lovingly decorated B&B we have ever stayed in. From the moment we entered, we could tell this was something special, and different. Immediately it felt like we were in a Florentine home, and the home of someone with a lot of style and great attention to detail. It was absolutely lovely: the furnishings, the generous amount...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your compliments on our Dimora. We stayed 5 nights at this B & B. As the name implies, the house is old and that's what makes it charming -- just like in the pictures, they gave us a room with a 4 poster bed furnished with antique furniture. It felt like you were visiting family. Although the front desk hours were limited, there were always...

Comfortable and colourful B&B, ups several flights of stairs (lift not working when we visited). Our room faced the street, but it was very quiet. Helpful and efficient staff who recommended excellent local restaurants that we would not otherwise have found. Liked honesty bar and free tea/coffee and pastries. Would have no hesitation in returning.

The location is very central to all of Florence. We could walk everywhere. The neighborhood is very safe. Our room was beautifully decorated, we even had a loft! We loved this B&B. It's small, intimate with a lovely hostess and a delicious breakfast. It's a ten minute walk from The Academy (where the David is located). Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
