Pros: 1) We booked a one bedroom apartment and were checked into Vasari (6th floor), which is a 2 bedroom apartment. Nice having two bathrooms! 2) Very spacious hotel room; plenty of room for lugagge 3) Main bathroom was spacious and shower stall was more...

We stayed at Palazzo Gamba for 4 nights in early May. The location is excellent! We stayed in the Massacio apartment on the fifth floor. The view is fantastic, from the living area, and one of the bedrooms. Loved the very tall windows that looked out to the Duomo. The rooms are a bit dated and bathrooms are small, European...

Despite being a clean and comfortable apartment, within easy walking distance of all of the major attractions of Florence, we would never stay again. Despite there being some form of double glazing on the windows, the location of the apartments, being on the edge of the Duomo meant we were unable to get more than an hour or two sleep...

While these apartments are in a great location and are very large, the security of the in room safe is non-existent. I put my passport and cash in the safe and locked it up. That evening upon return to the apartment, the cash was gone. Fortunately our passports were still there. We called the police who came and took our...

I recently stayed 5 days at the Palazzo Gamba and while the location is excellent if you want to be right in the middle - there are drawbacks. First the rooms facing the outside are very noisy but again that can be overlooked due to the views and the location. My main problem with this place comes from the antiquity...

These apartments are extremely well situated and our room has a small terrace facing the Duomo. Fantastic view of the busy square but not too noisy and there is a real buzz about the place. The apartment itself is well appointed with a large kitchen and seating area. The staff are friendly and even the dishwasher is being emptied when...

What a great find. We had a corner apartment where we could almost reach out and touch the Duomo right in the heart of the city. Carla and the team were wonderfully helpful and friendly, happy to offer advice about what to see and do as well as where to go to by groceries for your self catering experience. And...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
