We pay for other rooms and they give us other rooms. We are very angry about that. We talk with manager and they loud us and nothing do about that. We never stay again in this hotel and we don't recommend to anyone. We lose our money to this hotel...
The good: Its location is really good, right between Palazzo Pitti and the Vecchio bridge, so basically within a 20 minute walking distance of most sights in the city. The staff is also very nice here. The bad: First, the hotel is split between two buildings on opposite sides of the street. One building has the reception (on the top floor, tiny elevator), the other building is filled with apartments and a few floors and hallways for hotel guests (also tiny elevator). Even though the rooms have undergone some sort of basic renovation, many things have not been fixed. The doors are very bad sealed, so you can hear the sound of people going up and down the stairs, the constant noise of the elevator moving and even the regular conversations of the neighbours next door. The windows are equally bad sealed, not only making temperature regulation part of your trouble, but also letting in a foul sewage stench from the courtyard. Also the lighting is pretty dim, making it hard to see the inside of the closet when you get dressed. Also the closet door is very difficult to slide. The phone to the reception is located outside of the room in the hallway, and it will ring occasionally (we heard it at least twice a day). Last but not least, there was renovations being made in the building, which was incredibly loud and very disturbing when travelling with small children. We would kindly implore the hotel to ALWAYS warn their guest of any irregularities like this, that might affect the stay at the hotel. Then we could have chosen another hotel to begin with. A last thought, we could not find a smoke detector in our room or in the hallway nor a fire escape plan in our room. Only a fire extinguisher in the hallway. This is very unsettling and should be fixed by the hotel immediately.…
Pre-Xmas tour of Italy and we stayed at 4* accommodation across the board. The Old Bridge was by far the cheapest (no doubt due to its B&B status) and yet far the best, the location is perfect for the Ponte Vecchio unsurprisingly and the rooms were new and fresh. The rooms are detached from the reception, restaurant and roof terrace as they’re just over the road, just a couple of meters away. Great value for money, enjoy!
The room was lovely, new, clean, and spacious enough. You have to check-in in a nearby hotel, but that’s convenient because you also got 24h desk service. They also serve breakfast in the hotel nearby, at the 3rd floor, so I would not recommend it, unless you really don’t like the usual sweet breakfast served at the many Italian cafes nearby. The biggest problem is actually the building itself. It is old, and apparently very badly constructed. I wouldn’t say the neighbors were noisy, but I would wake up every time they slid a chair on the floor or flush the toilet. You can’t really complain with them about that. I’m sorry to say this, because everything else was nice, but I didn’t get a single good night of sleep on my time there. So minus one start for this. The price was also high considering the type of accommodation. Minus one star.…
We booked the deluxe spa room but when we arrived there had been a mix up with the booking and we were stuck with a standard room. To get to reception you have to go up 3 floors in a tiny lift and your luggage can't fit in the lift. Then our room was across the road in another building. The building foyer smelt like beer and something stale. The room was dingy and not very pleasant. The only phone is in the foyer instead of in the room. The bathroom is way too small, could hardly fit in the shower and could hardly stand to dry yourself. We were booked for two nights but checked out after the first night and stayed somewhere else the second night. Only good things was there was an outdoor terrace option at breakfast and the location is good. Other than that - not great.
Our stay was marred by noisy neighbors. The apartment below and the one above were very loud. Our room faced the back alley and the apartments behind were very noisy. Alley sounds reverberated late into the night. Also advertised as a B& B but breakfast was not included.
Friendly staff and perfect location to the town. Amazing help with parking and help to get out of the city. Clean and good space in the rooms. The bathroom was big and nice. The breakfast on the rooftop was fantastic. Worth a visit.
Very nice hotel in a great area. Our room was clean and modern, It was small but we knew that when we made the reservation. We signed up for the breakfast by mistake. Very sorry we did. It was disapointing and expensive. We would stay there again.
The B&B was ideally located for all the local attractions. We arrived early in the morning and had to check into the scarletta hotel, the staff who were friendly allows us to keep our luggage at the that hotel until out check in time. We returned where a helpful man carried my wife's luggage across the street to our room. The room itself although quite small was clean and tidy was ideal for the two of us. We did not eat breakfast as we moved on very early in the morning. Tip walk the 20 minutes from the hotel up a hill to the Piazza Michaelangelo where there is a beautiful view of Florence. I would stay here again
The hotel location is very convenient, 5 mins walk from Ponte Vecchio and in walking distance to many attractions. The room is quite clean and well maintained but the pillows are too flat and the wall is thin so I could hear the next door phone rings and their conversation. Beside that the rest are good for the price I paid.
