As an independent experienced traveler I really enjoyed staying at the Katti House near the train station for 5 days. Maria treated us like family. The room was very clean and neat. The breakfast served included fresh fruit, pastry, cheese and meat as well as...More
Clean rooms, soundproof windows, and roomy private bathrooms. Breakfast served from 8-10, always fresh and tasty. Maria is a great host of the B&B. Her daughter runs the Trattoria that has great food that is priced well. Highly recommend it.
Very easy to find from the train station. Maria was an excellent hostess. Nice room, superior breakfast. Katty's Tratatoria next door had excellent food. Good Wifi access and close to everything. Washateria across the street and a pleasant Irish Pub about four doors down.
My husband and I stayed 3 days in Katti 1 and Katti 2. Both places were really nice but Katti 2 is more modern and quiet. There was an error on our reservation and we stayed in Katti 2 one night. The cost was higher...More

San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on
Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.

Yes, there are parking garages all over nearby for a fee. Although, driving in Florence is a HUGE challenge. Not recommended. Beware, there are places you are NOT supposed to drive and will get a ticket in the mail after the fact. It's very easy to get caught up in these areas because streets are all 1 way. We rented a car for a couple days and we couldn't wait to get rid of it. Nothing but a big liability.
