Small family run hotel in a very good location, central but not noisy. Our room was at the very top and I counted at least 75 steps and there is no lift. However staff carry your luggage up for you.The room was small but clean. The simple buffet breakfast was included in the price and was more than adequate although...

Dear Eddies, thank you for writing your review...we are so happy you liked the stay and the services in our Hotel, including the transport of luggage in the room, although this service is not normally available in a 2 star hotel. I had a nice two-night stay here recently. The hotel is well-situated in central Florence, within easy walking distance of all the main sights. Our room was small, but comfortable. The bathroom felt a bit cramped, however, particularly the shower. The free breakfast was nice, but nothing special. The coffee could be better! The daytime front desk staff was very...

Dear Andrew, thank you for your good review, we are happy that you had a great time here. We regret just for that little misunderstanding with Simona who is always friendly and helpful with all of our Guests and she is a strength of our staff, as described in all Customers reviews. The only reason she kindly asked you to...

My wife and I loved the hotel. Location cannot be beat - central but not too busy. Mario at the desk was the best, so helpful. BUT the rooms are tiny and awkward and the steps up to the rooms can be a challenge. Downsides of an old, classic building in an historical location.

Dear Guest, we are so happy you had a very great time here. Thank you for your review and for appreciating, as rightly you have understood, that a stay in a hotel situated in the heart of art and history may naturally be accompanied by some little, background "inconveniences", typical of all period buildings in the Historical Centre of Florence....

It's been wonderful! I truly recommend this place! People here are the best! They've been so helpul and kind! The breakfast is good, the location is incredible! Loved it! I would come back for sure! Although the room was tiny, but it had everything! Air conditioner, hair dryer, it was clean and nice, it was perfect!

Housed in a 17th-century building in the historical centre of Florence, Hotel Santa Croce is a few minutes away from most of the major tourist attractions. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
STAYING AT HOTEL SANTA CROCE gives the possibility to live a unique experience in the magical atmosphere of Florence. Small but welcoming, Hotel Santa Croce is immersed in the marvellous historical centre, right in the heart of the artistic, cultural and commercial life of the city. The Hotel is situated in an historical building dating back to the 600s and stands on the remains of an ancient Roman amphitheatre. The illustrious Michelangelo Buonarroti spent his childhood years in the adjoining house (there is a marble plaque showing evidence of this on the wall of the first floor). While just a few metres away you can find all of the most important monuments and museums, as well as the most renowned bars for those who would like a taste of the Florentine night-life. Situated only 100 metres from Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizi Gallery and Piazza Santa Croce (from where the Hotel's name derives), you can admire the enchanting Basilica where the remains of the greatest artists, writers, poets and scientists in Italian history are buried; we are also just a few steps away from il Duomo, il Battistero, the magnificent Campanile di Giotto and the Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore and Santa Maria Novella, not to mention the precious Ponte Vecchio, under which Florence's rushing River Arno flows. Or if you would prefer to dedicate some of your free-time to shopping, you can spend hours walking up and down Via Tornabuoni or Via De Calzaiuoli discovering the best names in Italian, and international fashion. The breakfast room, cosy, warm and welcoming, will help you wake up in the best of moods. There is a 24-hour reception service and staff are always willing to help wherever possible.
