Our stay at the Portrait Firenze was fabulous. This was a belated 30th anniversary trip, and the lifestyle team went out of their way to ensure our stay was special. From upgrading us to a suite, to arranging a wonderful tour guide, to the genuinely friendly smiles and interactions from everyone we met, everything was top notch. The location is perfect for wandering, restaurant recommendations were spot on…..I could go on and on. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Stayed here Sept '22 for 5 nights in a Studio Deluxe River View. Upon check-in, we learned our room was on the second floor, which at first I wasn't happy about (due to street noise) but during our stay, I discovered, it was the perfect floor for us. The second floor is several floors above street level but as you are laying in bed, the river is at eye level, as it is set further back. So it's a wonderful sight to wake up to in the mornings. Speaking of mornings, the breakfast at the hotel is plentiful and sufficient to start each day. As for the rooms, I can say with complete confidence that what you see on the website is what you get. The only surprise is the extra details you start to discover as you enjoy your stay. The kitchenette which was smartly hidden behind cabinets in the entryway had everything including dishes, silverware, coffee, espresso, drinking glasses, sink, dishwasher, fridge etc...I loved all the artwork and other designer finishes throughout our suite which made us feel at home for the week instead of a boring hotel with zero character. The location is great, within walking distance to almost everything you will want to see in the top ten Florence attractions list. My ONLY regret, is not taking advantage of their fabulous concierge services from day 1. One morning, with poor planning on our part, we decided to rent a car for the day to explore the surrounding towns. We walked 15 mins to the neighborhood which has clusters of different agencies all within a block of each other. One by one we were turned away as they has nothing for us without a reservation (our fault). We walked back to the hotel defeated but decided to check with the concierge just in case they could help. To my surprise, within an hour, they arranged for a car to be dropped off at the hotel the next morning. The following day, at 9am sharp, we walked downstairs, met with the rental agency rep, signed the papers, and were out the door in 10 mins. A huge thanks to the concierge for coming through for us! Wish we would've asked sooner to avoid the hassle.

My fourth visit and just when I thought it cannot get any better, it does! Prior to my visits I receive an email asking my preferences for type of beverages in my room, room temperature upon arrival and type of pillows, among other things. I was greeted like I am a rock star (far from it!) I am always sent to the best restaurants, at the best table. I am feeling like part of the Portrait family - can't wait to get back! I've been to over 50 countries and this is seriously the best hotel ever. Every hotel should send staff members to stay at Portrait so they could learn how real service is conducted.

Portrait is a splendid hotel in a perfect location in Florence. Everything about the place including the room, location and service is impeccable. The hotel is next to Ponte Vecchio and pretty much every sight seeing location is within walking distance from the hotel. The breakfast at the Caffe is satisfying and the hotel is always eager to help with anything. I would highly suggest this new hotel for anyone visiting Florence.

I had the pleasure of staying here during a trip to Florence. This is the perfect location for touring Florence given its central location. I arranged to meet my private guide in the lobby and was able to easily reach all the most interesting tourist sites on foot from the hotel. The hotel very nicely upgraded me from my room to a river view suite. It was the most spectacular room I’ve stayed at in an urban area. The decor was elegant and a nice mix of modern and traditional. It had a large bedroom with a couch and desk, a dual vanity white marble bath, a large walk in closet, and a beautiful living room. They had Bluetooth in ceiling speakers in each room you could play music through. But the most spectacular part was the incredible view of the river Arno and the Ponte Vecchio. They left a lovely welcome snack and had cozy towels, sumptuous linemen and a wide assortment of toiletries. I was also impressed that they had a hair straightener in addition to the typical hair dryer. The staff and service were fabulous. We also ate at their restaurant Borgo San Jacopo and it was a very nice experience too. You don’t seem to be able to go wrong here.

I have been traveling to Florence now on and off for 50 years. I have stayed at several 5 star hotels, and loved the Four Seasons other than the location is a longer walk to where most of the action is. In 2019, I stayed at Portrait Firenze in a suite facing the Arno. I am not sure why I decided to book the same in 2022, other than I love the Portrait Roma which is also owned by the Ferragamo group. This hotel is now listed as the best hotel in Florence. If this is the best, then I would hate to see what others are like. Here are the things that I disliked at this hotel: The air conditioning system is a mess. When we arrived, the western sun made the room very hot, and we were unable to lower the temperature. They had to do it in their computer. Then when it got cooler, and we left, the system would go back to the setting they had put in. Needless to say with the temperature swinging in September from hot to cold in a day, this was very undesirable. Although I do not like CNN, it was not available . That is, it was listed, but did not come in until the last day of a 4 day stay. And the tv was very pixelated as it had bad reception on most channels. The bathroom is tiny and there is no toilet privacy if 2 are in the bathroom as the toilet was directly facing one of the sinks. There is no bathtub The shower was very dark as there were only 3 tiny lights in it. You could not read the shampoo bottle to be sure you used shampoo instead of conditioner. The shower door would bang into the bathroom door. The closet size is tiny There was an iPad by the bed, but it had to be taken from the charger in order for it to go to sleep and turn off its light unless you wanted it as a night light. There are no extra power outlets in the living room, so I had to unplug a lamp to access a plug. The internet was poor and using my own data worked much better. I did not know how to use the hotel phone. I went to the lobby and was told to dial 9 ( instead of 0) . It did not work as the phone did not work at all during the stay. I was able to call the front desk using WhatsApp from my iPhone. The wait staff at breakfast was horrible. It is a good thing that most was self service, but not for drinks or if you wanted something cooked. It is very noisy in this room until 1-2am with people walking in front of the hotel. I booked this hotel 11 months in advance and got a 4th night free with 3 paid. At the current rate they were charging for rooms, basically double what my cost was, I would not even consider this hotel. When management replies, they should know in advance that I will NOT be back.

We stayed there just for a couple of nights and had a wonderful stay. The location by the river and next to Ponto Vecchio is perfect to explore the city. The suite was absolutely stunning and all the service we had from the staff was perfect. Will definitely go back there
