This was my second visit to Florence. It was an easy and short walk a way from Santa Maria Novella station and also close to main sights. The room was a little bit shabby but clean and cosy and the common areas were ok.
The bedroom was clean though shabby. The shared bathroom was clean also. Communal areas were awful. The owner is unreliable. You can stay in wonderful places in Florence for the same price. My advice is stay elsewhere.
Very happy with our stay here, the owner was really nice, in a perfect location and no need for public transport. The breakfast included was just classic simple italian and delivered to our room every morning when we requested - which was great. Would of...More
This is a hostel. That means the bathroom and shower are shared. But that is OK, because it's very rare when they are occupied. Internet is great! Giovanni (the current host) is a great host. Since I can guess that this was a bigger apartment...More
Great value place & everything you need in your room. Clean, plenty of lights, cotton sheets & excellent air con. It is slightly outside the old centre but still really well-located, perhaps 10 min to Duomo & a bit closer to train and bus station....More

Italy > Tuscany > Province of Florence > Florence > Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The
area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
