We stayed here in August 2007. Found Cas Rovai, Guest House to be in an ideal location, quite area but within walking distance to the central buzz. Staff were extremely friendy, taking time to point out the 'must see's' in Florence. Local Restaurants were recommended, which we would not have found and were beautiful(ask for the steak restaurant closeby, fantastic!).... More

A family-owned residence is like a B&B. The rooms have private baths. There is a common area and dining room. The breakfasts are perfect for the traveler. The people who run it are helpful and courteous.

The unassuming wooden door off a little side street doesn't seem like much, but the six rooms offered by Casa Rovai on the second floor are spacious, clean and lovely. Twelve foot ceilings and frescoes, wall sconces, newly refurbished bathrooms, and antiques in the rooms and contemporary leather furniture in the common areas make for an eclectic but comfortable feel.... What a great B&B!!! The location is central, 2 minute walk to the duomo. We had the quad room, with the fresco's, WOW!!! The breakfast was continental, but definately more than expected. This was a great B&B and I will definately return. The proprieter was very helpful, considering we were 5 hours late they were very accomodating.

We loved our stay at Casa Rovai. As a family travelling Europe with 2 young children, it was great to find a place that was so accomodating. They were both friendly and very knowledgeable of the area and its surroundings. They would make museum reservations, offer terrific restaurant suggestions (not the usual tourist traps) and would always go the extra... More

Casa Rovais web site is enticing. It made the guest house appear more elegant than it is. It is situated in a central location in florence and the staff are wonderful. We just had higher expectations of the facility. Upon entering it appeared dark, there is no lift so be prepared to have light suitcases to bring up the flights... More

CASA ROVAI was my first B & B experience and it was wonderful. This B & B is in the historical center of Firenze next to main monuments and museums (Few steps from Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria and Piazza Santa Croce). Besides by walking some minutes you can reach the train station and busstops which give you easy... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.

“All rooms seem to be spacious and beautifully furnished.I would just add that a little mini fridge would be useful or a communal fridge with 24 hour access. All rooms seem nice and spacious. A room mini fridge would be a great addition ”
