The Borghese Palace Art Hotel is located in the centre of the old city of Florence. It is a great base from which one can head out each day to explore Italy's most beautiful city. It is equidistant from the Palazzo Vecchio and Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore (Florence Cathedral). The Uffizi and the Basilica di Santa Croce are...

I will not stay here again. My travel companion and I spent two nights in May 2017. I can attest to the need for earplugs if you stay over a weekend. The reasons for the poor review are security and the quality of the furnishing/bathroom. The area outside of the breakfast room contains at least two chairs that are made...

Easy walking distance of Duomo and Uffizzi. Book for early visits before 10 or after 4pm enormous amounts of tourists. Ask staff about where to eat as food standard generally poor. A great Museum is the Museo de Innocenti. Cross the RNO AND VISIT THE BOboli Gardens but check opening times. Peaceful after the crowds.

This hotel is very nice however if you are planning to stay there for a weekend take your earplugs! The majority of rooms face a street on which there is a nightclub and the noise until around 6am is terrible. If you don't mind the noise or staying there during the week the staff are very friendly and helpful. There...

Dear Caroline, Dear Sir, Thank you for posting your feedback and for staying with us. We are pleased to know that you enjoyed a very important aspect such as the reception service. The staff at this hotel was amazing - beyond excellent. They were friendly, helpful, and very service oriented. They provide excellent recommendations for restaurants, especially non-touristy restaurants. They helped arrange a car and driver for a day trip. They arranged for a guide to gain access to the Uffizi when tickets were just not available. They arranged for a car...

Stayed 5 nights in a single room. The room was a little on the small side but that was only due to the great size of the bed! Nicely furnished and very interesting art and decor downstairs. Breakfast was excellent. Staff at both breakfast and reception were fantastic. The location is perfect being close to the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio and...

Stayed here 3 nights in April 2017. Friendly, helpful staff, clean and comfortable room and good breakfast together with a great location (central and 5 minutes equidistant from Duomo, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio and Piazza St Croce) were the positives. The only thing that doesn't make this a 5 star review is the small size of the bathroom, which could also...

Borghese Palace Art Hotel was overall a top choice for our stay in Florence. Centrally located within minutes of the Duomo and easy to access. The staff were incredible, always helpful, professional and willing to chat. The hammam was a wonderful bonus, beautifully set out and well implemented. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, though would have benefited from a few...

Great location everything within walking distance. Staff friendly and helpful. Room 308 spacious, comfortable bed, requested extra pillows after first night as the ones provided where quite flat. Bathroom clean but shower cubicle very small. Shower head in need of descaling, impossible to regulate water temperature so either too cold or very hot! No hot water in the sink and...

The hotel is located in the old quarter of Florence, close to all the wonderful attractions. Although rooms a fairly small, the facilities are quirky and clean. The reception and breakfast staff are very friendly and supportive. Special mention for Theresa on reception who was fantastic.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
