This unique museum and apartment for rent is located near Palazzo Pitti. By passing through the entrance one enters into the 19th century atmosphere that surrounded Elizabeth, you feel it immediately. The furnishings, pictures, colors of the fabrics and rugs all pull together to make this experience a dip into the past. In addition you can also rent part of...

This is the most unusual of places to stay. It is one part historical and one part dormitory, owned by Eton college so the layout seems best suited for an adult couple sleeping in the enormous bedroom at the front with others sleeping in far more rudimentary accommodation off the kitchen and in bunk beds in a small room reached...

Hi cjk j, We’re really sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with the noise whilst staying at Casa Guidi. We are currently in the process of trying to close or move the unlicensed jam sessions held below Casa Guidi. The dormitory rooms at the back of the apartment are normally locked for use by Eton College (who...

This incredibly wonderful, historical flat IS beautiful, well-cared for and a very special place to stay while visiting Florence. We were very pleased with and appreciated the well-equipped and spotless kitchen, bathrooms and linens. We felt so fortunate to be able to stay in such an historic site and experience life the way the Brownings must have. The caretakers of...

This is a historic apartment in the Oltrarno area of Florence, just south of the Palazzo Vecchio and opposite the Pitti Palace. It was the home of poets Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Robert Browning in the 1850's, when they married and ran away to Florence. It sleeps 6, and has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, salon and study...

Staying in Pitti

Neighbourhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
