We have stayed here several times over the years, and we keep coming back because of the location, the rooms, the setting and the staff. It is on the Olrarno side of the river and only a few minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio. As an old palazzo, the rooms are wonderfully decorated with wall and ceiling frescoes, The staff are welcoming, helpful and courteous. The continental breakfast has been downsized some since COVID but there is still sufficient food for a light breakfast after the typical (relatively late) tourist dinner the night before. We asked for a room facing the garden (toward the Arno) and were slightly disappointed by it being somewhat smaller than what we had experienced in the past. Previously, we stayed on the street side of the building in huge rooms (might be a bit pricier) which were fantastic. Only issue on the street side was that it could be somewhat noisy if one sleeps with the windows open. But, all in all, a great place to stay away from the din of the central part of the city and we will go back there next time in Florence.

I stayed in room 2 with a friend: spacious beautiful room - a junior suite with a wonderful painted ceiling. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom containing a shower was very small. There was not much noise from the street facing room but as this room is next to reception it was noisy because we could hear the music that was being played at 7 am by the receptionist. The staff were very pleasant though and if I stayed again I would ask for a room far away from reception

The room gives that magical feeling, it's such a beautiful space with all the frescoes on the walls and high ceilings. Quiet, fully equipped, extremely clean. 5 star service, very helpful staff. Plus amazing location, very central. Would love to go back!

Liked · The room was HUGE .. literally you could play football in it!
Grand room with very high ceilings .. felt like we were truly in a Palazzo with wonderful frescos in the ceiling
The location of across the bridge from the Ponte Vecchio and I think I would prefer to have been on the more central part of town if I am honest.

Disliked · Its actually too big .. to the point that heating or cooling takes at least an hour to get to the required temperature!
The bathroom is small and the one major issue we had was the smell. Really bad gutter smell when we arrived and the rooms smell got progressively worse!
Breakfast is a croissant and some fruit so very basic and one person seems to do everything .. front desk, room assistance, serving coffee and brekkie etc

We found this hotel by chance and it was wonderful. Fourteenth century and still with some of the original painting on the high ceilings and walls. We were made to feel so welcome and the staff could not have been more helpful. this hotels is mainly and bed and breakfast hotel with excellent rooms and a more than adequate breakfast.

Great place to stay. The location is perfect: a quiet street, easy to walk to all the sights of Florence and a variety of good places to eat nearby. Comfortable, atmospheric rooms and the staff could not be more helpful. Highly recommended!

This is exactly what we were hoping for when visiting Florence! Nestled right in the heart of the city, this is the ideal location for a weekend trip.

The hotel itself feels really personal, with limited rooms and brilliant service. The room was huge and brilliantly decorated.

Would definitely stay again, and if you are looking for a real taste of Florence, then Palazzo Guicciardini is perfect!

I booked this accommodation in December 2022, with very good rates. I checked the rates approximately a week before and they had almost tripled. I received numerous confirmations- even up until the day before. After travelling 7 hours by boat, bus and then taxi, I was told I don’t have a reservation? They blamed booking.com but it wasn’t that. They obviously got a better price. After months of planning and really looking forward to that hotel, I was extremely disappointed. In the end, after another taxi, we ended up staying at a great hotel near the train station. Luckily they could accommodate us at last minute. As much as the pictures look amazing, I wouldn’t recommend if you want to guarantee a room!!

Our room was number 4 and the most beautiful huge room I’ve ever stayed in. I felt I was in a historical movie. Everything was stunning and the modern shower en-suite was also perfect. The frescoes in the room took my breath away and lying on the bed looking up at the ceiling was amazing . The continental breakfast was generous and set me up for a day of sightseeing.

A simple abut good hotel, located in a beautiful palazzo with clean spacious rooms. Booked on line on the basis of the beautiful photos, which didn’t lie, but we will come back because of the staff who unfailingly help, knowledgeable and efficient. Superb value - if only more hotels were like this
