Positives Very quiet, clean, nice towels and clean private bathroom down the hall. Good shower. Clean. Small and not much space to put your things in the shower but functional. Breakfast served at our preferred time and friendly host made me a small toasted sandwich as well as the already set out bread, corn flakes, spreads, coffee, cookies and packaged snacks. Two kinds of coffee and a kettle station for tea and hot choc. Gluten and dairy free options and she baked us an apple cake. It’s like staying with your nonna but she tells you the info then leaves you alone to do you thing which I love. Negatives Was a little hard to find at first as the street numbers aren’t updated or very consecutive and being on the 3rd floor was a bit annoying but there is a small single person lift which once we figured out how to use was good. White curtains means room isn’t very dark to sleep in. Bathroom was quite cramped and overheated because of the heated towel rack in a small space. Probably would have preferred more breakfast type foods rather than snacks …
I am giving B&B Giorni Dipinti a 3 out of 5 stars but that does not mean it was bad. The room was clean and the host responsive and helpful when it mattered the most. Location: Near many sites and conveniences. Was it very near sites? The Duomo and a few others were a 15-minute walk. A grocery store and main bus stop was a 10-minute walk. A self-serve laundry mat was 5 minutes and a nice surprise. An excellent restaurant was a 7-minute walk away, Ristorante La Giostra and is well worth a visit. Make sure you book at least two nights out, maybe three or you will not get in. Room: Clean but small. We travel Europe a lot (were in Italy last year as well) and know rooms are typically small but I was a bit surprised. Breakfast was included, and the host had it ready when we asked but it was weak. It was more snack food than breakfast. The building had the slowest and smallest lift we have ever seen. My wife is 5'2", 115 pounds and she could only fit in it with a purse and tiny backpack. Host: Nice lady but seemed to lose interest in us after we arrived. Would I book this room again? If I was in a rush no doubt. If I would plan another visit to Florence I would look for something else.…
found this place and it was really nice. The owners are great and the breakfast is very large with everything you could want. The rooms are large and comfortable remember to switch on the mosquito repellent in the room. Rooms are air conditioned and the lady of the house was extremely pleasant and helpful. Aranged taxi for us nothing was too much for her. The owner has a great view from there upstairs balcony
We visited here as family. Laura welcomed us very warmly. She is very helpful, kind and a beautiful woman. The appartement is nice and well furnished. Breakfast is perfect. I would definetely visit here again.
Great Bed and Breakfast and great host. Good value for the price. The host is very charming and can give you good tips on what to see, where to eat, etc. in Florence. Note that even though the bathroom is private, it is not in your room.
We had a lovely 2 night stay with Laura in Florence. She made us feel extremely welcome in her home and took care of us while we were there. The facilities are excellent. Rooms are well air conditioned and our bathroom (an external one) was lovely and clean with a spacious shower. The wifi was strong, air conditioning excellent and breakfast was fresh and plentiful. We would definitely recommend to other travellers:)
We arrived for a late check-in at 6:30pm, and Laura (the owner) came downstairs to greet us and to help with our luggage. Her B&B is located at the top floor of the building with A LOT of stairs to climb! Thank goodness there is a very small lift, which she put our bags into to get them to the top floor, but she had to stop at each landing and push the button to have the lift continue to the top floor. If there happens to be an evening when you don’t feel like climbing several flights of stairs, you can take the lift but it is extremely slow, and can only fit one large person or two tiny people (like my sister and I). Laura showed us our room and gave a brief tutorial on how everything worked (especially the air conditioning unit). She also gave us a map and some other information, then asked our food preferences for breakfast. I am dairy and gluten-free, so she noted that and took down the time we requested to eat. The breakfast had a nice selection of fruit and other items, and she accommodated my preferences. She then asked if we liked dogs (YES!) and invited us up to her flat to meet Neo, her son’s very sweet pup (she was dog sitting for a bit). She then showed us the views from her terrace, which were quite lovely! Our room was at the end of the hall where the stairs up to Laura’s flat began (#7). Our window view overlooked a courtyard with Magnolia trees, and we could see the top of the Duomo. It was very quiet and peaceful! Overall, the B&B was very clean and comfortable, and our room was excellent. We were happy with comfort of the bed (medium firm) and the pillows were down. The linens were crisp and clean…everything felt very nice. The room is sparsely decorated, but tasteful. We also had a full-length mirror, which was appreciated! The bathroom is small, but very nice and clean and has everything one needs. The common area (where everyone eats) has pretty much everything you could want: coffee machine, water kettle, microwave, small fridge, snacks, tea, coffee, etc… We were pleased with this. The location is excellent, just a few streets from the Duomo and steps away from many restaurants and shops. On our last day, Laura let us leave our luggage in the front area for a few hours while we went to see a couple of sights. She gave us a separate key to that area (as it was locked off from the B&B) and told us to leave it when we picked up our bags. Laura was such a gracious hostess! We would definitely stay here again! We had a very enjoyable stay at B&B Giorni Dipinti. The staff is very efficient and very courteous. We were in room #4. This room had a large bedroom, well furnished with exceptionally nice bed linens, and a large bathroom with a washing machine. The washing machine could come in very handy for someone who's been traveling for a while. However #4 faces the street and there is a lot of street noise at night. So if you're a light sleeper, this might not be a good room for you. The breakfast was a typical Italian B&B breakfast, i.e., nothing extraordinary but certainly adequate. The building has an elevator but it is the smallest and slowest elevator we've ever seen. My wife and I are not very large people but we filled the elevator to capacity, without luggage. However, the B&B is up three long flights of stairs, so at least the elevator eliminates having to carry luggage up the stairs. It takes three minutes for the elevator to go from the lobby to the B&B and you have to press the button for the floor the whole time. You can walk much faster. We only used the elevator to go up and walked down. Not a complaint, but a warning: the hot water is scalding hot, so be very careful.…
My husband and I stayed here for 1 night and it was the most fabulous b&b. Laura, the owner, is a gracious hostess and added the personal touch to our experience. The bedroom was decorated in a modern and quirky way and was immaculately clean. The breakfast was lovely with fresh fruit, yoghurts, biscuits, cake, teas and coffee. The location is perfect; a very short stroll to the historic centre. All of this for under €100 a night. It definitely gets 5 stars from us.
Laura is a wonderful host and the B&B is so clean and comfortable, you feel right at home. Situated in a central location, nothing is too far to walk to and there is an abundance of Ristorante's close by. A wonderful place to relax at the end of a long day.
