This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel and we were expecting it to be as good as the first time. It was not. Not enough beds around the pool for the size of the hotel. The food was not good and several times we struggled to find something that we would like to eat. Service in the restaurant was not good.Front of house could be quite rude. Wouldn't go back.
This is a great hotel right in the old town of Florence. . Staff are helpful and easy to deal with If you can get a junior suite garden view as ours was a junior suite and looked into a wall in the middle of the hotel. The couple that checked in before us that day on points got upgraded to the garden view. Breakfast was good The pool is a spa pool so not a pool in terms of swimming. It is central to everything which is great
Loved the place! Breakfast and spa was great! I would really suggest this small, cosy hotel with the garden if you decide to stay in this part of the river! Rooms are nice and have a charm. The hotel is located on the busy street, but..- right in the beggining of it, so you can escape all the crowds and still stay in the city centre. Everything is really close. Main atrractions are from 500 metres to 1 km away.
This is a lovely hotel with a beautiful outside area where you can relax after spending the day sightseeing. It is beautifully designed with lots of light. We booked a small suite that had a partially separate sitting area that gave us a nice place to relax. The bathroom was modern and had two sinks which was a plus. Included breakfast buffet had a large variety of food from which to choose and the coffee was excellent . We ate outside every morning in their inner courtyard which was very relaxing. Most of their guests ate in the breakfast room which was bright and cheerful. It is about a 10-12 minute walk to Duomo. The staff was very nice and extremely helpful with confirming our dinner reservations and getting us taxis. We had a great stay . We would highly recommend this hotel.…
We spent 4 nights at this lovely boutique hotel, one night in a surie and one in a superior room. The suite was two stories and the view was incredible!! the Superior room was small but well appointed. great bathroom and amenities. The little pool was nice. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was wonderful and helpful. The location for us was ideal, just 2 minutes form the MArket and the Duomo. I would stay here gain in a heartbeat
Only a 3 night stay unfortunately but would have no hesitation in recommending Castri as a superb place to stay in Florence. It has a lovely "feel" and all aspects of the stay were perfect. Every member of staff we came across couldn't do enough for you.
Great hotel for a trip to Florence! Luxury, clean rooms, good breakfast, friendly staff and within a short walk of the city center. The garden is a nice place to relax after a walk in the city. I would stay here again if I'm ever back in Florence.
A truly outstanding hotel. We stayed for our 30th anniversary and from the very first to the very last moment we had a wonderful time. The hotel itself with its fantastic room and lovely garden oasis was fantastic and every member of staff was helpful, friendly and full of smiles which made our stay extra special. Our room ( junior suite with garden view ) was fabulous with a view of the Duomo and bell tower and the house keeping was perfect. If you want a brilliant hotel in a great location with friendly helpful staff you need to stay here
We returned to Florence and chose to stay at Palazzo Castri 1874 once again, because we had enjoyed it so much the first time. Truly an oasis in the bustling city, the tranquility begins when the glass door slides open and the light and scent of the hotel welcomes you. The staff is just wonderful, so welcoming and kind. The hotel itself is beautiful. light and airy with a feel that is timeless-kind of like Florence itself, old and new in one. Our high-ceilinged room (simple, calm and comfortable) looked out over the garden, where complimentary tea is served in the afternoon, with a glimpse of the duomo from the window. Breakfast buffet was excellent, and when we ordered room service food after a long day travelling to the Cinque Terre it was delicious. And of course the spa and pool were perfect, great to unwind after exploring the city. Palazzo Castri is tucked away but it's easy to walk to anything from here, il duomo, the river, the train station, the city center, and we really liked that sense of "coming home." We hope to come home to Palazzo Castri again soon.…
This hotel and its staff were incredible. The location is great, the hotel is so clean and modern, and the grounds are amazing. Didn't get the change to use the spa or pool, but would love to in the future. We had a superior room and it was huge and so spacious. The breakfast was also very well stocked and both the indoor and outdoor seating are such great options depending on the weather. Hotel was also centrally located and very easy to walk to various parts of Florence. Would definitely stay here again on another trip to Florence.
