We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during our honeymoon in February 2018 (better late than never with the review of course!) Such a fantastic stay that we still speak about to this day! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was beautiful and clean; and we were welcomed with a lovely letter of congratulations from hotel staff which was left in our room on our arrival. The food was delicious, especially breakfast! Would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to have a comfortable stay in Florence.
very comfortable beautiful place nice room with view good location closed to the Duomo and the main places in the heart of Florence difficult time for travelling but we enjoyed our stay and for sure we will come back
Location is OK, outside of the Traffic controlled area. Slightly noisy, but acceptable. Very nice interiors, excellent breakfast and quite helpful staff. Everything is renovated. Covid precautions are reassuring and well presented.
Palazzo Castri 1874 is a lovely hotel with spa facilities however unfortunately, it lacked a personal touch. The hotel has done an excellent job at managing the spa facilities in current circumstances (Covid-19). The room we were allocated, was well presented however it lacked any form of a pleasant view. The view from our room looked onto what could only be described as a shaft, which made us want to spend as little time in the room as possible.
We visited Florence for 4 nights at the start of September 2020 and were booked into the Palazzo Castri 1874. We chose the Hotel because of the ratings, location and facilities which looked fantastic online. From the moment we were greeted by reception, to entering our room (306) facing the street and square and being in the Hotel, we knew we had made the right choice. The staff were all friendly, helpful and kind. The gardens and pool were spotlessly clean as was the Hotel. Our room was cleaned and towels changed every day and whilst a tea cup was forgotten or no milk, this was quickly rectified and I only mention it because that was the only low level error that happened and these things do occur. The pleasant manner in which I was given fresh milk and cups said everything about the motivation of the staff and how this place is run on very high standards. If you book this Hotel, you will not be disappointed, they certainly are trying their best to make holidays and visits to Italy as enjoyable and stress free as possible during these difficult times. …
