Very friendly, comfortable and charming hotel. It feels like a mix of hotel and personal touch of a B&B. Very conveniently located, near all the good restaurants and main shop areas. Definitely would recommend.

We thought this was our best room of our Italian trip- wonderful views over the town from the bath tub, it was a spacious room and in a quiet location. The staff were helpful and we found our stay very relaxing. Lucca is great place to visit- we enjoyed riding around the ramparts enormously.

In my experience most night porters only reluctantly take their eyes off the screen of whatever device they have behind the counter. Not so at Hotel Palazzo Alexander in Lucca. When not talking vividly to the guests arriving home from dinner in beautiful Lucca, night porter Alessandro Feretti is busy baking cakes and pies for the next day’s breakfast. Fabulous...

The hotel is not much appearance wise, but the room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. It's on a very small street and a short walk to the center of town. The hotel has parking which is a BIG +. All -in- All: the hotel was a very fairly priced hotel.

The hotel is ok, pleasant rooms and location- no issue with that. The problem we had, which is still traumatising us over a year after we stayed relates to parking at the hotel. The hotel is within the city walls, which are only accessible by residents or, in theory, those staying at a hotel. We drove through the city twice...

Our very knowledgeable travel agent recommended this hotel to us and it ended up being one of the best accommodation venues we stayed in across Italy. The owner, Mario, has a wonderfully old world view on service and could not have been more helpful or delightful to deal with. From the minute we walked through the front door, Mario made...

We booked this delightful stay at the last minute and after an easy walk from the train station, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a junior suite. It had a balcony overlooking the rooftops of Lucca and a sitting room that would've made it worth paying full-price for! The furnishings and fittings in the room are gorgeous the...

Lucca is a beautiful city. Lots to see and eat. This is a small hotel with personnel service. They will park your car, a good idea on these very small streets. Quiet, clean and comfy. Beautiful building, good breakfast. Also fresh apples and oranges in fruit bowls waiting for us to take as a snack.

Within Lucca's walls, this boutique hotel is small enough that the owner and his family can give their guests plenty of care and assistance. Their patience and attentiveness is a reminder that hotels need not be soulless stopovers--and that the best of them never will be.
