What a wonderful location...only fifteen minutes to Lucca. It was very basic , but it was quiet, and clean. They were very helpful. The breakfast was OK. It was perfect for one night, I would highly recommend this monastery. It is run by the Catholic church.

I was just sorry that we weren't able to spend more time here as the building is fascinating and the location is remote and serene. We booked it mostly because it was reasonably close to Viareggio where we were attending the Pucini Opera Festival and needed accommodations for the night. It was a pleasant surprise to arrive and discover such...

We stayed one night en route from Naples to Lyon. It's got bags of character being an old monastery. Very basic accommodation. The bedroom was small but well sound-proofed. By contrast the wall between our en suite and the next was wafer-thin (I think alternate rooms were divided by thin partitions to make the en suites). There was a rock...

We stayed here for one night based on the excellent TA reviews, and couldn't believe how cheap it was when we booked... It was quite spartan in places, but we don't feel like we payed too much for what it was. The building itself is lovely, high ceilings, well decorated, although perhaps too much religious art/pictures of the Pope if...

This hotel fit our picture of a perfect holiday in Tuscany. It is surrounded by a beautiful hillside, summer flowers, and quiet solitude. We sat in the courtyard in the evenings with a glass of wine. We ate a delicious breakfast each morning. The staff was super helpful and courteous, recommending great restaurants and fun day trips. We enjoyed short...

We stayed at this hotel for three nights while visiting Tuscany with our two small boys. It was the perfect getaway after a long busy day touring Florence and other Tuscan towns. It is set back a couple miles from Lucca on a beautiful hill overlooking the town. The grounds are beautiful and open , a great place for kids...

Lots of atmosphere in this tranquil location in the tuscan hills near Lucca. The area is quiet and you can hear lots of birds if you leave the windows open at night. We saw lots of fireflies in the vineyard below which was truly magic. There are seats provided outside so you can enjoy the stunning view in the evenings...

We booked this as in the photos it looked tranquil and serene set in the Tuscan hills. It is indeed both of those things and much more. The views from where it is situated are breath takingly stunning. The accommodation way surpassed our expectations. We stayed in a superior double which was like a suite with large bedroom furnished Tuscan...

Very charming place for relaxing holidays. Good service and friendly people, even the neighbours who told us the way to the hotel. We enjoyed our staying and found everything good. Not a lot of sport activities, but I guess down the street you can play archery (we didn't try but saw a farmer shooting with a crossbow). Peter

I really enjoy staying there, wonderful land and great peace. It's close both to Lucca and to seaside (Versilia). Beautiful landscape and good room manteinance. Nice restaurant in half a mile from there. Maybe it's not so easy to reach from the motorway, but dont' worry if you don't find the place: simply ask to neighbours. We found a very...
