We just stayed for a week, it was excellent in this converted Monastry. Our bed/en suite were on a mezzanine because the ceilings are so high. The linen changed like a normal hotel, 15mins walk to rail/bus stations. We took the trains to Florence & Cinque Terre and the buses to Volterra (both much cheaper and more fun that the...

Me and my friend have been here for a night in the middle of a bicycle trip. Well... We paid 26€ for a room and breakfast. Bikes locked in a safe area of the hostel next to their owl(Yep, an owl). Really big furnished garden and restaurant. Bath a little bit old. The hostel is in the north part of...

Beautiful hostel in an old building, partly made in marble. It is near the medieval walls ! You are warmfully welcomed, and there is a cosy garden where it is cool to relax and have a drink. Not far from the main places to visit in Lucca: anfiteatro, Torre guinigi, the San Frediano church... !

The hotel/hostel is an old monastery. It has some great features. Friendly reception staff. Speak good English. The rooms are very basic but very clean and comfortable. This place is huge with loads of big communal areas for relaxing and plenty outdoor space. No aircon so was a bit warm in August. I would definitely use again if in Lucca....

We arrived in Lucca with no accommodation booked and with rucksacks on our backs we headed to the hostel in hope more than expectation. On arrival Luca the Manager (formerly of Newbury) was politely helping some guests with questions. He then made our day by offering us a room at very reasonable rates and gave us a tour of the...

The Ostello is definitely not one of the best hostels we've travelled to, but it does have some nice features: - excellent location in the heart of the old city, - amazing atmosphere of an uncanny building (a covent converted into a hostel, with 6m high ceilings !) - nice staff - we had a big double room, clean and...

Nice hostel in the city center. Very spacious, situated in the old building close to St. Frediano church that you can actually see from some windows. I spent one night there. Although I lived in the 8-bed room instead of the 6-bed room that was offered on booking.com and water in the bathroom was only slightly warm, and there was...

Dear guest, thank you so much for your nice review. By the way, we would like to point out few things: - it's true that you slept in a 8-beds dorm, but you were only six people; in order to respect your reservation, if you have a reservation for a 6-beds dorm and you are in a 8-beds dorm...we just...

Although it's a bit of a walk from the train station, this hostel is only a couple of minutes from the town center. The hostel is clean, with private bathrooms (though not ensuites) and several common areas. The only cons are that the wifi is very spotty and there was only one power point in an 8 bed room.

Dear Guest, thank you so much for your nice review and words. By the way, we would like to point out two things: - the hostel is not a couple of minutes from the centre, but the hostel is in the centre. The main street in the city centre, is the parallel of the street where we are situated; the...

The hostel is located in a former convent at only 3 min. walk from the center! Spacious building with nice and clean rooms. Skilled staff. No problem to store our bikes. Additional breakfast possible. Absolutely a nice place to stay when you visit Lucca!

The hostel is in a beautiful building, previously a monastery, with loads of character. The location is perfect - there is easy access to the wall as well as the town. Bus # 18 takes you to the San Frediano stop from the station. The wifi was poor with hardly any signal available. The €3 breakfast is cheap but lacking....
