We were very pleased with our two days at the Royal Victoria. The hotel incorporates a number of ancient buildings and, while the last renovation probably occurred a number of years ago, the hotel has a lot of old-world atmosphere, as well as extremely attentive service. Our double room overlooking the river (there are also views on the other side...

My girlfriend and I returned yesterday (8th June) having stayed for one night only at the Royal Victoria. Having read the numerous reviews on this hotel, some good, some not so good, we approached our stay with an open mind. I can say though, without any doubt, that our stay here was absolutely wonderful. From arriving at the hotel the...

The room we were first shown was a little disappointing but we spoke to reception and were offered a much better room on 4th floor, near the lovely roof terrace. Here the staff will bring you a coffee or a bottle of wine with nibbles. Breakfast was the usual bread, cheese, salami and cereal. The decor is a wonderful mix...

Having read the reviews while booking a cheap weekend away to Pisa I was expecting cheap & cheerfull, though feeling a little bit dubious about the whole shared bathroom and toilet facilities. Upon arrival to Pisa at the Airport deciding to be adventurous we decided to catch the bus instead of the taxi to the hotel. At 1.50 (euros) we...

A very nice hotel. Unfortunately we only had one night there. Our room was very basic and a bit small, but nice and clean and with a good bed. The hotel has a lot of atmosphere with a tall ceiling and old paintings and photos on the walls. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is nice for the...

We stayed here for a couple of nights while travelling around tuscany and loved the antiquated charm and atmosphere of the place. From the old fashioned lift to the heavy dark bedroom furniture in what was a delightful room with a huge bathroom - plus all the nooks and crannies to explore. Don't come if you expect a shiny, all mod...

Just returned from a lovely weekend in Pisa - perfect weather, great food, successful family mini-break.... only negative was the niggling feeling of disappointment with the hotel. I'd booked on the strength of positive TripAdvisor reviews but with hindsight wish I hadn't foolishly ignored the negative ones! On the plus side, staff were friendly enough, location was good in terms...

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night when our booked hotel didn't honour our reservation. It was very very disappointing. The rooms are damp with paint flaking off the wall, the bath was cracked with bare mouldy patches, the bed was very uncomfortable (I still have back ache) and the noise kept us awake most of the night. Breakfast...

Located on the river front in the medieval and renaissance center of Pisa, the Royal Victoria Hotel has tried to retain elements of its grand Victorian tradition. The staff at the reception desk were consistently friendly and helpful. Their suggestions for restaurants near the hotel were outstanding. The secluded roof terrace is a welcome place to have a coffee or...

Agree with other reviews that it is a bit rough around the edges...the hotel is old so you have to make peace with a couple of things that are not perfect. Friendly staff. It is a nice location on the river. However be careful if you are sensitive to noise and have a river-facing room - noise insulation is not...
