Owners Bianca and Fabrizio made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Our apartment was a two bedroom with plenty of space for the dining and kitchen area. We were minutes away from quaint tourist towns; including Assisi, Bastia, Gubbio and Spello and within an hour or so of larger cities like Perugia, Deruta and Florence. The food...

Just 2 miles from Assisi, this lovely Agriturismo ranks as one of our most memorable Italian experiences. The rooms are spotless, well appointed and roomy. There are public rooms with stunning fireplaces, where, in the evening, one can share wine (grown on the estate) with friends. The host and hostess, Bianca and Fabrizio could not be more charming, welcoming or...

We thoroughly enjoyed this centrally located, lovingly updated agriturismo. It was the ideal place to relax and just hang out or to use as a home base to visit all the wonderful cities of Umbria. We traveled with several friends and it was wonderful to come together at day's end in the living room with a wonderful fire, great wine...

A great central location from which you can tour tour Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio and more! The sleeping apartments were charming ,warm and well kept. Dining under the baton of Sig. B. Panbianco was delicious! Not to mention the fun cooking classes we enjoyed! And, best of all, our hosts Bianca and Fabrizio were delightful and accommodating in every way! We'd...

We love LaFornace! We've stayed twice, in July 2007 and May 2010. Both times with large groups that I've organized and we've be fortunate enough to have the property to ourselves. (I have, however, recommended LaFornace to independent travelers and they have had wonderful experiences.) Having traveled to Italy about 9 times, Umbria is our favorite spot and LaFornace our...

Its really relaxing, set in beautiful countryside about 5-6 km out of Assisi (not the 2km mentioned on the website). We didnt have a car which was fine as we didnt want to go too far in any case. We...

We stayed in I Papaveri (The Poppies) which was a two bed, two bath apartment, and quite comfortable for two couples and a small child. Did not try the breakfasts but self-catered, and the kitchenette was adequate for this and for simple evening meals of pasta etc. No oven but a gas burner stovetop. Good-sized fridge and dishwasher. Seating not...

Podere La Fornace is a beautiful property. We had the La Quercia room/apartment was a bit oddly laid out, but very comfortable. The outside spaces are very nice, although we didn't use the pool because things were cooling off. Despite Karen Brown's book saying that the owners speak English, the innkeeper during our 4-night stay spoke almost no English (not...

“Our room was great - but there are other choices that might fit your group better. The Camere rooms are at the top of a flight of stairs - so only stay there if you are prepared to haul your bags up the stairs.”

“The date is wrong...we were there in May a couple of years ago...but that was the only choice the website gave me. You should change that. The review is also about the FOOD, since TripAdvisor emailed me to ask, "What is your favorite place to eat?"”
