My husband and I were determined to avoid big towns during this, our second, trip to Italy. Found this on trip advisor and thought it looked perfect... And it was.Our room was on the second floor with a wonderful view. A luxurious room , fully self contained. The castello offers breakfasts..sumptuous, and dining at night. Wevdinex o e night but...

My husband and i stayed here for a week late June. The staff were always helpful. Not too many spoke English but were always willing to try to help understand! Took us up to our room and showed us around. Olga, one of the ladies who works there was very helpful all the time. Her English is very limited but...

We visited this hotel in May, 2012, and were assigned to one of the detached apartments down a pathway from the main castle building. Pros: The restaurant's food is delicious at all times of day, for all kinds of food, and the house wine includes a Sangiovese! Wonderful! Our first visit to Castello Cortevecchio was in 2005. Our second visit mid May, 2012 brought back fond memories. This is a modernized16th century castle..with the ambiance you would expect and some issues you would expect. It is not the Ritz. It gives one the sensation of being in a forest....really beautiful and wonderful to wake up to the birds singing in the early morning!! The room we had was large, clean and comfortable. We had dinner at the restuarant and the food was lovely as well as the service!! Massimo the waiter was really helpful and kind all the time!...

“Speak Italian. Ask for Franco and tell him exactly what you want -- perhaps even ask for a room in one of the newer units down by the tennis court and swimming pool, although no one used either one of these facilities during our stay.”
