This hotel is in a perfect location, just outside the old city, just a quick walk away from everything. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean with nice, crisp linens and with a minimalistic, but historical feel to the room. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. Parking was convenient and the A/C strong. I slept like a baby! (we had a quadruple, which not hotels have!)
Even with 31C in September they turn of the A/C because "of the season". They also gave me an economy room when I paid extra for a standard, but since the only difference between the rooms is the disabled A/C it made no difference (don't pay extra for standard rooms outside of summer). The hotel is well located at the foot of the old city. Breakfast is poor, they even water down the juice. Parking is not available, but off season you can find nearby places to park for free. The rooms have no standard euro power-plugs, only the old Italian plugs, so you need an old adapter.
Hotel is just lovely. The lobby is beautiful and the breakfast is to die for each day. The staff was helpful and walking distance to everything. We stayed for two nights. Restaurants are very accessible and the town is so welcoming
After a day's travel, we were very pleased to have booked at this hotel. The room was large with tastefully decorated furniture. The breakfast was very satisfying and ample. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodated our early departure by opening up the dining area 1/2 hour early. When our early departure made it difficult to catch the bus to the train station in the nearby town, the hotel's receptionist negotiated a taxi fare plus our already purchased bus tickets for 30 euros instead of the 25 euros per person.
There was nothing dreadfully wrong with this hotel, but compared to the wonderful hospitality and facilities we received at our other hotels on our holiday in Italy this one was rather lacking. We asked at reception whether we could leave the car outside, we pointed to where it was and were told it would be fine. When we got back to the hotel we were told we must move it, and we were lucky we didn't get a parking ticket. I paid for upgraded rooms, which I thought meant there would be a lift, but this wasn't correct, and we had to make our way up the two flights of stairs, with several suitcases and bags, no one offered to help. The air-con which the upgraded rooms was supposed to have didn't work at night. The free toiletries turned out to be a sachet of shampoo and one bar of soap. The doors needed stoppers, as they were so noisy as they banged against the wall, and the lighting was so poor I gave up trying to read. Breakfast was adequate, and the dining room was beautiful. We also sat out in the garden which was nice.…
