Nestled in a prime location with stunning lake views, Beau-Rivage Genève is celebrated for its historic elegance and luxurious ambiance. The hotel's service garners high praise for its staff's professionalism and warmth, contributing to memorable stays. While the elegant, spacious rooms equipped with modern conveniences are a highlight, some guests have mentioned issues with AC and room readiness.
The hotel's cleanliness and attention to detail are consistently applauded. However, opinions on value diverge, as some feel the cost of rooms and certain amenities, including breakfast, do not fully match the price point.

Detailed Reviews
My recent stay at a particular hotel was an absolute delight, largely due to the impeccable service provided by the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism.
Knowing that we had an early departure before breakfast hours, the thoughtful staff went above and beyond by providing us with coffee to go. It may seem like a small gesture, but it made a big difference in starting our day on a positive note.
Moreover, the hotel staff went out of their way to assist us in making dinner reservations at a nearby restaurant. Their local knowledge and willingness to help saved us the hassle of navigating through unfamiliar surroundings, allowing us to fully enjoy our evening.
Of course, the breathtaking view from the hotel further enhanced our experience. However, what truly set this hotel apart was the exceptional service provided by the staff. Every member of the team, from the front desk to the housekeeping staff, exhibited a genuine commitment to ensuring our comfort and satisfaction. Their friendliness, attentiveness, and professionalism made us feel truly valued as guests.

as agreed, the driver was waiting for us at the exit of the airport. half an hour later we arrived at the hotel. the reception was very warm ! we were also surprised that the room was already available (it was about 11.20am) ! normally this would be available from 3pm ! it was also very nice to note that the hotel manager Louis had made sure that the room was very romantically decorated with rose petals, champagne and a beautiful bouquet of flowers ! all the staff are very attentive and do everything necessary to make us feel at home ! we stayed there for 4 days. we had booked the panorama suite and had a beautiful view of 'la vielle ville', 'le jet d'eau' and the Christmas market ! we dined twice in the Chat-botté, the Michelin restaurant of the hotel. the service was always excellent and we particularly enjoyed the creativity and passion that you find in all the dishes of the chef Dominique Gauthier who even had time to have a chat ! it was an exceptionally successful stay thanks to the commitment of a very motivated team that is fully at the service of the customers. when we visit Geneva again we will definitely book there !

We needed a hotel with a high level of comfort (we needed a terrace) and a high standard of service at a reasonable price for a short stay in Geneva on our way to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. The hotel has a very good location, just 15 minutes of relaxed walk to the historical city center and a beautiful view from the bar’s terrace, overlooking the Lake of Geneva and the fountain. We had a very good experience with a very caring concierge desk and room service.

We were disappointed not to get a room with lake view despite the upgrade we got
We had to check out early due to early flight and no breakfast was provided early - would have been nice to get a cost reduction when one cannot use eat breakfast there due to their opening hours
Staff was very friendly and location was great
Rooms are overpriced when room has no view

Dear renesN6540V0, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed our location and found our staff friendly. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience regarding the room view and breakfast timing. Please know that we take your comments into great account and will review them to ensure we can improve future guest experiences. Regarding the room upgrade, unfortunately, due to high occupancy during your stay, we were unable to offer a lake-view room at that time. We truly appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you back soon. Best regards, Robert Herr General Manager

The Beau-Rivage in Geneva is located near the usual luxury hotels (Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons) across the busy (and noisy) street from and on the west side of the lake. It is well-kept physically and the bathrooms are first-rate. The hotel houses a Michelin restaurant but the lobby is relatively small and unremarkable. Overall the hotel struggles to justify its rating, especially compared to the service and staff at other 5-star hotels elsewhere in the country. The staff was friendly; the issue seems to be the operations and details. The introduction to the rooms was hurried and incomplete. The hotel did not mention or share with us the visitor transportation passes that can be used on the ferries to cross to the east side, or on public transportation (taxis and ride shares are hard to find). While the hotel is air conditioned, the AC seems inadequate as it is difficult to cool the rooms (especially those facing west) in the summer as Geneva can get quite hot and humid. We experienced a lot of small glitches during our stay. Our very expensive pre-paid suite was not ready upon arrival and we waited several hours unable to check in until 5 pm. Upon checkout they omitted our $100 per stay credit but rectified the issue immediately. The rooms have a puzzling array of push-button light switches inexplicably located in connection to the lights they control. Even after we requested a second tutorial the staff were as inept as we were but eventually you’ll figure out what buttons on which walls do what—although who needs the aggravation when you are tired from traveling.

Dear jam638, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback regarding your recent stay at the Beau-Rivage Geneva. I deeply regret that your experience did not fully meet your expectations and I appreciate your candid observations as they are invaluable in helping us improve our services. Firstly, I am pleased to hear that you appreciated the Hotel in general and our Michelin-starred restaurant. However, I am truly sorry that several aspects of your stay fell short of your expectations. Regarding the introduction to your room and the transportation passes, I apologize for the oversight. It is our standard practice to provide all relevant information upon check-in and I regret that this was not properly communicated to you. I will address this with our front desk team to avoid situations such as these from arising in the future. We are also concerned about your experience with air conditioning and the room readiness upon your arrival. We strive to maintain a comfortable environment for all our guests, especially during the warmer months, and I apologize for any discomfort you encountered. Please rest assured that I have now looked into this matter in detail and the technical issue has since been resolved. As for the lighting controls, I apologize for the confusion they caused. I appreciate your patience in navigating this during your stay. Lastly, I am glad to hear that our team rectified the oversight on your $100 credit promptly. However, I understand that the accumulation of small glitches during your stay affected your overall impression and for that I am truly sorry. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we are committed to making the necessary improvements to ensure a seamless and exceptional experience for all our guests. I hope that you will give us another opportunity to welcome you back and provide the level of service that you rightfully expect from Beau-Rivage. Please feel free to reach us directly if you plan to return and weI will personally ensure that your next stay is flawless. Warm regards, Robert Herr General Manager

You can feel that this hotel used to be among the top in Geneva. The service is impeccable in most cases, staff remembers you and greets you by name and are very helpful. The only really annoying thing I wish they wouldn’t do is if your do not disturb sign is on and they come for turndown they will call your room, now they do turndown late, like 9pm…you’ld think that if people have DND on they don’t want to be disturbed by phone either…
The hotel itself is a beautiful old building and they’ve done what they could to maintain the rooms but they’re really ageing and a bit lacking warmth. No individual ac/heating, bake or open the window, wobbly chairs and a few other things not working properly in the room. I think they will really be at the top once renovated, for now I would rather stay across the square at the hotel de la paix

Recently stayed here for 3 days end of June and then 4 more days early July with a short side trip to Paris in-between the two stays. The entire staff from the Front Desk, to the Concierge, to the Terrace Restaurant/Bar, to the Doormen, to Housekeeping, are professional, helpful and can't seem to do enough to make your stay wonderful. We stayed in two different rooms (since 2 different short stays) which both had incredible views of Lake Geneva. Wish we could recall the names of all the great staff- the Front Desk who were able to check us in early, the Concierge who helped to find us a late booking to Chamonix, and the Restaurant staff (Bryan and his colleagues), were all very accommodating. Housekeeping did a spectacular job and the Doormen helped expertly with luggage, cabs and directions. Highly recommend this hotel and a room with a view of the lake.

Back at Beau Rivage for a getaway to Geneva, what can we add to our previous comments other than the pleasure of staying in this exceptional house, whose rich history is present in every space,
each floor is always the same. The Mayer family has left Beau-Rivage, but the charm remains unchanged, served by a dedicated and attentive team. Much more than a palace, it is the mirror of a particular art of living that decorator P.Y. Rochon knew how to create the deliciously romantic rooms of the “celestial floors”. We can bet that he will put this same talent at the service of the great expected embellishment and that the Beau Rivage will remain the most beautiful and legendary of Geneva's palaces.

A faded grande dame desperately in need of renovation. Lobby is sad and depressing with furnishings that should have been replaced years ago. We were initially assigned an unrenovated room with a partial lake view (despite having paid for full lake view). The room was an absolute disgrace, with a musty smell, creaky floors, faded carpet, and tired, dated furnishings. This was not even a three star quality room, let alone the five stars which the property claims. The arrogant front desk staff refused to give us a renovated lake view room without payment of a substantial upcharge. We also had an extremely disappointing (and extraordinarily expensive) dinner in the pop-up fondue restaurant, La Terrasse Alpine. We've had much better fondue elsewhere in Switzerland for a quarter the price we paid here. Service at dinner was slow and indifferent - the only thing our waiter was good at was upselling us to more expensive menu options. The sole bright spots at this otherwise overrated property were the doorman and the breakfast, both of which were exceptional. Overall, worst experience ever at a Swiss hotel. Would never return.

Dear Acek, Thank you for taking time to share your review. We would like to express once again our sincere regrets regarding the dissatisfaction with your last stay with us. As discussed previously, we are sorry for the misunderstanding that occurred during our exchange. Despite our efforts and keen to find a room for you with several proposals, we were unfortunately unable to find a suitable compromise that met your expectations. Please be assured that your experience does not reflect the values for which our hotel is recognized. We continue to remain at your entire disposal and hope to welcome you back to Beau-Rivage in order to demonstrate our second to none service. Yours sincerely, Robert Herr, General Manager

My three month old baby and I stayed in the Henry Dunant suite and the stay was incredible. The crib provided by the hotel was very cute and my baby loved it as well as the crib bumpers that she was totally in awe of. The other aspects that I was very impressed by were the two bathrooms in the suite. One was next to the salon and I could use it when my baby had already gone to sleep and the other was by the bedroom. It was very large and comfortable and the toiletries provided were Clarins, which I appreciate given that many hotels now simply provide their own branded toiletries whose quality can’t really be vouched for. This really gave the bathroom a spa like feel. Generally, the attention to detail was something you could notice at every level. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and made my stay so pleasant. I look forward to visiting again.
