A pleasant place, very friendly staff, a place to withdraw from the bustling of the city. Has more soul than many of the larger fancy hotels. In the old part of town, so there are many nice restaurants and coffee shops within minutes to walk, which is very nice. Good connection to the railway station and the UN (direct bus... More

This hotel is ideal if you are looking for a good location in Geneva. Rooms are quite small but comfortable and clean. There are no tea/coffee facilities but you can buy your own supplies and use the shared kitchen. Kitchen can be used to cook meals if you are on a budget. Staff friendly and will answer questions whenever asked.... More

Stayed in Bel Esperance for a business trip. The rooms were decent and the staff was friendly. Breakfast is run of the mill but considering the price it was good value for money. There's a common place to cook and store food. It was right smack in the old town, but a bit far from Place des Nations and Gare... More

We spent 5 days, in October, here and were quite comfortable. The room was simple and comfortable with a great bed, small desk, tiny but functional shower, 2 balconies (too high up for me to use). WiFi worked well. When the room lights were first turned on, they were very dim but quickly brightened up sufficiently. Towels, etc. were great... More

We were on a short family break. The location is excellent, being in the old town made the main tourist attractions easy to reach on foot. The trams/bus are free and only two streets away ( the number 10 tram takes you all the way back to the airport). The united nations is worth visiting.Take the number 15 tram. You... More

The Bel'Esperance claims two stars (Swiss) and that is probably about right for this hotel created by the Salvation Army to put up the Salvation Army lassies voluneering for the cause. On the other hand, it is clean, the breakfast is OK, and it is in a terrific location in the old town part of the city, so it is... More

I was in Geneva to visit colleagues at the University. They put me up here and apologized for the overall low quality of inexpensive hotels in the city (or I guess you could say the extreme cost of good ones). This was far from the worst place I've stayed in, it was clean and basically comfortable, but it felt very... More

As a base for business or visiting family this hotel is ideal. Rooms may be compact but comfortable and clean. Only thing missing is tea/coffee facilities but as reception can get you tea/coffee/hot chocolate from the machine or you can buy your own provisions and use the shared kitchen this is not a problem. Kitchen can be used to cook... More

Hotels in Geneva are incredibly expensive and I had already booked another hotel for a much higher price when a friend told me about Bel Esperance. I know a few people have said that it is pricey, but really, where else would you get a clean room with TV, use of facilities, nice service and a very adequate breakfast all... More

Can recommend it as the best deal in Geneva. As a person who loves 5 star hotels. This simple place is in the old city ,closelose to the cathedral and some great shopping. The staff is friendly and the ros are very clean. Breakfast is simple but plentiful and included in the price.
