Lovely 115 year old hotel with history abounding at every corner. Husband and wife team run this lovely place and are very hands on, organized, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Hearty breakfast buffet, clean and spacious room ( we had a balcony-although the road noise can be somewhat deterring), and friendly service! Loved the fact that you can buy... More

We booked 4 nights at the Hotel Gletschergarten in Grindelwald, got a warm welcome , and were very soon at home. It is a haven for flower lovers, 1000 geraniums hang healthily from every floor of this 1899 built chalet style building and there is a really beautiful rose garden just across the road that belongs to the owners

Run by a husband-and-wife team, you can't go wrong with this hotel in Grindelwald. Cozy atmosphere, good restaurant, warm service, great views of the Eiger from the restaurant and from some rooms. The building is very old (1800s) but the rooms are modernly refurbished. Close to town but away from the noise, it is extremely quiet at night, leading to... More

Room was small but very clean. Bathroom was small but modern. Large patio, decorated with beautiful potted flowers, with a perfect view of Eiger and its ever changing looks. One night we stayed for the dinner prepared by the owners- every course was perfect from the leek tart starter to the passion fruit and ice cream dessert. Would definitely recommend... More

The staff at this lovely, flower-covered Swiss chalet-style hotel was what really made this hotel a standout. They were always looking to help - advice, activities, bookings, even storing our luggage when we went for an overnight hike and offering free shuttle rides to and from the train station. When we had to cut our hike short by a day,... More

We stayed here for two nights. It is located about a 10 minute walk from the train station in a quieter area of Grindelwald. We loved our stay here. The couple who run the hotel are friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome! The dinners were delicious and I would recommend eating here! Breakfasts were equally good. We will... More

The hotel certainly lived up to its excellent reviews. The hotel as a whole really made you feel that you were in Switzerland. The daily breakfast and evening dinners were excellent. The owners, always present, were most helpful in guiding guests on how best to see the area's highlights. The location in town, near the church, was well located in... More

Hotel Gletschergarten has everything you imagine about Swiss Alps. Lovely flowers on the balcony, an old historical feel to the place, yet modernized and clean. The owners are gracious people and hospitable. You will enjoy meeting with Gabriela and Gery. We had dinner at their restaurant one night and it was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay.

Gery and Gabriela are very informative and accommodating with all their guests. Gery is especially wonderful at helping hikers find the best trails for the day's weather pattern. Both hosts are very attentive to special needs of their guests and making sure their guests have a very satisfying and comfortable stay. Rooms are large, with balconies in the front and... More

Exceptionally friendly, helpful staff. Roomy rooms, good balcony. Handsome flower boxes all around. Great place, good food. Excellent mixed salads and breakfasts. Dinner beef was superb one night; ham a bit dryly overcooked another night. Laundry machine is great convenience 5 CHF per wash, and per dry. Busy main town street outside quiets down after 8pm. Nice location away from... More
