We were really surprised by the Hotel Gabbani - in a good way of course. The hotel is relatively new, located bang in the city center. It is based around an old monastery and forms part of a restaurant/shop which is the main business on the ground floor. As such it's a really interesting combination- you don't really feel like...

The Gabbani is perfectly located in central Lugano, easy to locate from the railroad station. The rooms are typically small, but adequate. Large bathroom. Immaculate. Wonderful breakfast of local cheeses, Bologna, breads, juices, etc. There are several other hotels in the vicinity, but all are within the same price range. I can't thiink that any could be as interesting as...

We only spent a few days in Lugano and wanted a reasonably-priced, centrally located hotel - Gabbani definitely fit the bill. An easy two minute walk to Plaza Reforma and the waterfront. The rooms are named after different types of food, with contemporary decor to match. Our family of four had two rooms - Cafe & Mozzarella. Cafe (dk brown)...

This is a great hotel, with a good service. The room was beautiful clean and spacious. The bathroom was my favorite part. I really enjoyed to be at this hotel. Is very close to the lake, so you can easily walk to there. Definitely I will be back one day.

Gabbani is definitely a landmark in Lugano, well known since decades. Everyday their sandwiches feed hundreds of businessmen and commuters, and on every Wednesday their aperitivo turns the ground floor into the liveliest place in town. Not everyone knows that Gabbani is also a hotel, and this is actually a well hidden secret. The boutique, food&wine atmosphere is pleasant, the...

We traveled to Lugano with motorcycles and thought that was great, but we realy hit the wow effect discovering this absolutely charming, inovating, inspyring and cute little hotel in the centre of the old town close to the lake. The rooms are all diferent and are color coordinated with not numbers but names on the doors, I had the CAFFE...

This hotel met all our needs in Lugano. We use public transportation and we easily reached the property from the funicular. If you do not find the door or it is closed, you can ask the restaurant - but it is best to go thru the restaurant to catch the elevator. We read reviews that some people felt locked in...

From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The father motioned us from the tables outside to follow us into the cafe, passing by some biscuits he passed on each to our daughters. The son, showed us the hotel, with charm and wit - sharing stories of the paintings and making us feel welcome. The meal and wine that night...

Centrally located in a pedestrian area of Lugano, a very nice boutique hotel. Clean rooms and nothing to complain other than perhaps a night staff service would be an added value for customers. In any case, as far as I am concerned, if around in Lugano again I will return to this place.

The Hotel Gabbani is in a quiet pedestrian street close to the funicular to the train station, just a few minutes away from the lake shore. Its room are comfortable, with a somewhat unusual design. The hotel reception is in the first floor, as well as the restaurant where breakfast is served, the ground floor is occupied by a delicatessen....

“We stayed in the Orange room. Very quiet. The single chair in the corner is too low to use at the desk for writing - there are several public areas, but no place to sit and write.”

“Both ours and my mother in laws rooms were fantastic. For kids - we took the Rosa suite, complicated to explain, but basically, the 2 door entry system enabled us to eat downstairs with the 2nd door open (1st door locked securely) so that our kids could still call us and we could hear them when they called us...while we ate in peaced 2 floors down in the restaurant!”
