We loved staying at Hotel San Carlo Garni. The location was excellent and our room was quiet, clean, spacious and did have a view of Lake Lugano, excellent value (especially for Lugano!). Great wifi. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The hotel is one door from the Coop where anything needed can be bought and close to funiculare, cafes,...

This hotel was a great stay. The rooms are very spacious compared to many hotel rooms in euorpope. The room was clean and welcoming I loved the welcome chocolate on your bed. Everyday the room was cleaned and towels, face washers, soaps ext was replaced which I loved as it gave me a fresh towel for each day. The location...

Thanks to the Swiss Tourism Office I went to this hotel for my first stay in Lugano. Warm welcoming from the staff. Well decorated and cosy rooms with large bathrooms but no view over the lake. Very quiet place in a high street where you can find everything (cafes, pharmacies, supermarkets and small shops).

The best part of the hotel is its location. It is situated right in the center. Just walking distance from the lake. There are lot of shops around the hotel. (In case you are looking for a peaceful and secluded hotel then probably this is not the place for you). We traveled in a group and enjoyed our stay. The...

The hotel is located next to the lake and in the city center. The rooms unfortunately do not offer comfortable chairs. Besides sleeping, there is no much you can do in the room. Although there is a desk and a chair in the rooms, they are not comfortable to perform any kind of task beside chilling (e.g. work on your...

Perfectly situated for the centre of the old town, yards from the waterfront. Hotel also stands on the most expensive shopping street, for those who love Gucci and wonderfully unaffordable Swiss watches. Simple, pleasant hotel, clean, and cheaper than the vastly overpriced alternatives all around. (Swiss prices are now so high that even the locals cannot afford them. A typical...

Very friendly and helpful staff provided a warm welcome. This is in a great location in the centre of the old town and just a block or 2 from the lake. A quick bus trip gets you to the train while the funicular is being reconstructed. A good breakfast is included. The staff are very willing to help with advise...

My check-in was one of the most pleasant I have ever had. The hotel only a block to the famous lakeshore esplanade and is in the heart of the old part of the city on the Via Nassa, which is a pedestrian-only area (mostly). The only drawback is how noisy those late night pedestrians are when they leave the nearby...

San Carlo Garni hotel is a cosy place, really central and well looked after. The Lake is just a few minutes away from the hotel. It is a bit too expensive for what it has to offer but Switzerland is an expensive country anyway.
