The City Garden Hotel stands out because of its attractive design and the modern materials which are in total harmony with the green surroundings on the edge of the forest. A combination of contrasts that works impressively, both inside and out. The three-dimensional facade covered in chromium steel panels and the rhythmising corridors lend the City Garden Hotel a unique character. Inside, we have concentrated on warm materials such as wood but also on rough elements such as concrete. Colours are used subtly but deliberately. The City Garden Hotel, together with the City Apartments, is an ambitious showcase project and gem that will not just enhance the hotel landscape of Central Switzerland in terms of quantity but also in terms of quality.

We went to the restaurant and it was one of the most amazing vegan/vegetarian experiences we ever had. In addition the service staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere and place itself was nice, too. Really a secret Tipp. We will go again.

Not suitable for business travel. There are no services for business travel, there are no practicalities at Garden City. You will not have an iron, & will need to use a communal, uninviting space to iron. We chose to pay for ironing services but had to pick up our clothes at the front desk. Also, if you check in “after hours”, you will need to check in at the parent hotel- The Park. Horrible, after long hours of travel. The room has no sense of comfort. In a country that has the benefits of a low population & expansive geographical space the room is like a cell. The bathroom is in the center of the room with limited space to organize, The design is gaudy. I’m certain it appeals to people who won’t be spending much time in the room, who have no business focusses. We found it tacky. It is advertised as modern- I suppose if modern means living at cheap club. I left prior to the end of my stay. Went back to Zurich & spent the money to travel back to Zug. The extra travel cost was well worth it. Ask questions of the hotel before booking your stay.

Dear hotel guest First of all, we would like to thank you for taking the time to write a review. With regard to our ironing service, we offer our guests two variants: the guest can iron his shirt himself in a separate ironing and laundry room (irons are not allowed in the hotel room for safety reasons) or the guest can leave his laundry to be ironed/washed. If the red "do not disturb" card is hanging on the door, unfortunately we cannot deliver the laundry. Our check-in times are communicated to each guest with the written confirmation and are only to be made after 10.45 p.m. in the sister hotel Parkhotel. The design hotel City Garden was developed in cooperation with a renowned architect and interior designer and was planned from the start to meet the needs of business guests. We guarantee you a service corresponding to the hotel without ifs and buts. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced. We look forward to welcoming you back to the City Garden or Parkhotel Zug. Your City Garden team

I have stayed at this hotel many times before when in Zug on business. And I chose to stay here as I have always liked the service and hotel. However, this stay was different. Firstly upon arrival reception was unmanned, one sign said it was manned 17:00 to 19:00 whilst another said it was closed, it was 17:20! I eventually phoned the reception of the sister hotel and was told someone was on their way. Eventually they arrived but then needed to go back to other hotel to get my key. I was then told that breakfast was being served at the the sister hotel and I’d need to check out at the the sister hotel as well. Having breakfast at the other hotel was very busy. In the future I’ll consider staying at the sister hotel, The Park Hotel, as that may be simpler and easier. I’ll give three stars as the room was very good, but poor service and lack of breakfast mean I cannot give it more. I’d struggle to recommend this hotel over its sister hotel based on this experience.

Dear sir First of all, thank you for your feedback. The past two years have influenced negatively all over the world the hotel and restaurant business in many ways. Unfortunately, we have not been able to provide the full service to your complete satisfaction due to a lack of employees in the hotel industry market. We understand your frustration and dissatisfaction and apologize therefore. From May 14, 2022, we are definitely looking forward to starting operations again with full commitment. We guarantee to offer you a service corresponding to the hotel without ifs and buts. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

No breakfast, no reception, you need to go to another hotel for check-in and check out, no restaurant open. This is like air bnb , but you pay for a 4 stars hotel. Robbers …. And they consider you like no one at the other hotel reception… no real apology…

We just celebrated my husband’s 50th at City Garden- an evening party in the restaurant and several rooms booked for our out-of-town guests. The staff were fabulous from start to finish in terms of organization, friendliness, and professionalism. The food was absolutely delicious and so beautifully presented! And the hotel rooms were very comfortable, clean, modern, and spacious. I can highly recommend this venue for parties or special events! Plus, the location can’t be beat!

Spent two nights on a business trip, this is the hotel of my choice, or the Park Hotel next door. Had a perfect stay, all was as expected, and being so close (5min) walking distance to the train station is a big plus.

I stayed for 2 nights during a work trip. It seemed a reasonably new hotel with a modern design. The room was basic, but clean. The bathroom was very open plan, not ideal if travelling with a partner (the bathroom light would flood the entire room). A small complimentary water bottle was provided only on the first day. There was no iron, nor could one be sent up, instead you had to go to a communal room downstairs. The breakfast buffet was included and was decent enough. Hot options included scrambled eggs, sausage, and bacon. There was also a self service coffee machine. Zug is a small town, and much of it was within walking distance of the hotel. The train station was a 10 min walk away. Overall, a good enough stay in what I would classify as a 3 star hotel.

Stayed here a few times on business; large and comfortable rooms; restaurant on site is OK and menu changes often; good draft beers. Breakfast has a reasonable range of cold and some hot food. No gym.

Oh dear. I have never experienced such an inflexible policy on room cancellation. Even in the event of a bereavement the hotel insisted that the exorbitant room rate was non-refundable, even when they were given ample notice. I personally will never stay in this hotel again and will advise all my colleagues, friends and family to avoid it as well.
