The best thing about this hotel is its location with lovely views over the lake. However you should be aware that it is situated out of town on the hills behind, so it is not convenient if you want to go into the city, for example to find somewhere to eat. The rooms were of a good size, clean and comfortable. One minor disappointment was the temperature of the water in the bathroom - just on the warm side of tepid. The restaurant served wholesome, uncomplicated meals. The breakfast was adequate at best - I have had much more generous breakfasts at 3 star hotels in Switzerland. The overall price for room and breakfast was reasonable by Swiss standards.

Great taste, well prepared, good portions, lovely setting with best views of Zug, friendly staff and service. We visit this restaurant for 10+ years for events , day and night time meals, garden aperos which are spacious and breezy with trees and flexible service. Catering small and big requests has been great also as corona sets us up for take out. Thank you Martin and Cornelia!

The Guggital is owned since decades by the Elsener Family, today Martin, Franz son is in charge, he kept the authentic of the place, giving a small touch of modernity, Visiting Zug and not sharing a dinner in the terrace and garden of the Restaurant is a big mistake, the location is unique overlooking the Lake of Zug, at good whether your eyes reaches also the Berner Oberland. Dishes, presentation and service is excellent. And if you can stay for a night, you will be happy to be surrounded by such a pure air

We choose Guggital because of its situation, fabulous view from our bedroom situated on upper floor with a balcony, parking is free outside the hotel, important for us, my husband has a mobility problem (not severe) holds handicap parking badge, staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast served in a dining hall overlooking the lake, too cold on that day unfortunately to be outside on the lovely terrace. Bedroom large, clean and comfortable, big flat screen TV. Good beds.

I stayed here for two nights this week while travelling on business. The staff are helpful and pleasant. The decor and aesthetic look of the hotel is somewhat confused between old and new and minimal and grand. My room was very cold as the radiator was not working but they fixed this the next morning and also put an additional portable heater my my room to help heat it up and in case the radiator stopped working again. The food in the restaurant is amazing. Very much a fine dining experience. Obviously being in Switzerland it is somewhat expensive but well worth it as a treat! Lovely views across the lake. The bus route to the train station as a stop right outside this hotel.

Nice place for a drink or a lunch on the terrace, beautiful view of Zug Lake . Peaceful place. Staff very kind and obliging. Car park next to the hotel. Seems that the brunch on Sundays is very good .

We stayed just one night in this rather simple hotel. From our room in the fifth floor we had an impressive view of the lake. The room was clean and equipped with everything we needed during our short stay. In front of the hotel there is a bus stop for line 11. The bus will bring you in a few minutes to the city center/lake. The breakfast buffet was as basic as the room, but we enjoyed it.

Nice, clean European type rooms with nice view of the lake. It is close to the city with a bus stop right in front of the hotel (direct bus from train station/downtown). The people were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is nice with a terrace with view of the lake and the food was excellent.

The hotel is not in the city center and was much more expensive than what i was expecting to pay for, i was also hesitant as i had to commute every day to the other side of the town but it was the only hotel available so i booked it for three nights. There's a bus station right infront that takes you to train station ancity center. It's a lovely small hotel, nice size rooms, gorgeous views over the lake with a great size terrace. The hotel has also a restaurant with great views. What a lovely start of the day to have strong and full of flavours coffee and looking at the beautiful lake and mountains surrounding it!!

On previous trips I've stayed down in the town of Zug before, but I'm glad I tried the Guggital Hotel this time. My 4th floor room in the new section was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed, good shower and a balcony with a 180 degree view looking out over the lake to the mountains beyond, and in another direction over the town. Pity it was a winter trip otherwise the balcony would be a great place to enjoy a quiet drink and take in the air and view. We had evening dinner at the restaurant, which was very good with friendly service - in fact all the staff I saw were very friendly. Breakfast was adequate. It's a pleasant 30 minute walk downhill through the old quarter to Zug rail station and the town centre.
